Patch Notes - 1.4.73 - 21-Jun-2016

I'm not one to complain on forums, but I had to add my voice here. I've enjoyed MWO very much since the Beta. Now I'm looking for another game to play because the change is enough it's not fun anymore. There were some very good ideas in this patch, but the mini-map change is not one. One of the tools used to play this game for years is gone and regardless of intentions it was a mistake. Please fix.
Please advise when it's reverted so I can come back and play, thanks.

You must be really dumb if you dont understand my problem, or you havent played since the patch. Everyone gets lost on the maps we knew like we know our thumb, plus I probably knew my mechs better than you will ever think.
O...........................K
I have not played since the patch, but since we were talking about the OLD mini-map that's not really relative.
I DO understand your problem, you lose track of where your mech is pointing and facing. That PROBLEM can be solved by keeping track of where you pointed them when you do it.
I do not "get lost" on maps I know well, I have NEVER used the old mini-map to track my torso/leg orientation, and knowing your mechs doesn't help if you lose track of where it's pointing.
I was not trying to come off mean, I was making a joke and pointing out you don't need the feature that they took away. Sometimes I forget how angry and hatefull everyone in this community is.
Sorry I tried to help you, carry on.......

I use the minimap to decide in which direction i should run. In which direction i must turn my mech to.
Instead of looking around, i use the minimap to localize where my team is, where detected opponents are. Because of that i need the minimap to turn around into the direction i'm moving or looking at. Like the old minimap was.

However, like everyone else the scale on the minimap is way to small and the old one is by far superior in almost everyway. So...you better patch that soon PGI.
non mic players should not command, command wheel is not fast enough to adapt

Also regarding Nova, Mad Dog and Timber Wolf's new look... Thank you.
Ebon Jaguar seems to be too big compared to other 65tonners. It's about as tall as Thunderbolt but with such a large torso. It doesn't appear to be consistent with the rescale. It also compares unfavourably with Catapult.

You have ruined the mini map and navigation in general. Do you play this game? against other live opponents?
The mini map is ruined. It needs the ability to zoom in and out if you want it that zoomed out.
It no longer rotating.... its a bigger deal than you think.
Removing allies and known (targetted enemy) directional facing is a big deal.
Large groups that use voice comms will be even better because they coordinate movement.
Small groups that rely on the direction of facings to plan. Gonna be bad times for more casual players.
Fix it.
this! nothing to add...
I will take a break until they include the option to switch to classic map.

The Jenner IIC is now slower, as big as a shadowcat, and cant even fit under the walkways in the center of HPG manifold. This is a huge problem; Jenner IICs were already glass canons and now anyone who spent money on them is out of luck because it's useless now.
Thanks for causing unnecessary stress, unhappiness, and etc. in your fans and likely losing money in the process.

Please PGI at least play the game you make before you change things . New mini map prove to me that you do not even play this game .

I do appreciate this. Basically seems okay but some things can look weird at first - like Shadowhawks towering over Thunderbolts, but they are slimmer and just 10 tons lighter so it makes some sense.
If this really based on exact volume calculations, I think that's it is. ('Pults still seems small and BJs a bit large but nevermind...)
Quirks:
I don't really get some of the decisions - like beating the top IS heavies when finally there was some working balance - but i don't care at all since the new sizes will require a brand new balancing anyways.
(Hopefully this time neither by listening the "buff more my min/maxed übermeta monster 'cuz somebody dared to hit me and his Mech must be OP since I believe I am a 10 times better pilot that I really am" tryhards, nor the "I don't even know yet how to look around, or that SPL doesn't work 1200m away, not to mention shielding, but I complain since I can't win like automatic" newbies, but rather balancing in a fair way what make sense.)
Maps:
Again, I very much appreciate all the effort. But it's too early for me to make any point. We will se in a few days/weeks.
(But if Frozen really stopped being a brawling map I'm sad...)
Command-wheel:
I don't need it but I see the reason so it's welcomed.
Minimap:
Like seriously... guys... It was a huge fail this time. I don't need to explain, as I see others do it in about every minute anyways.
