All Victors received an additional +10 structure to each side torso.

Doesn't make sense to me either. Here's a post I wrote up on the entire rescale project, if you're interested: https://www.reddit.c...n_mech_rescale/

The mech PGI probably hates even more than they hate Quadrupeds.

One of my favourite mechs the Orion didn't get smaller. But many of the other heavies and assults got larger, and even many of the 35 tonners, so even if the Victor didn't get smaller its competition got larger and therefore evening the playing field for some of the mechs that were scaled correctly.

Doesn't make the Victor any better, crits on its side torso are just as likely to happen. can now take an extra ac10 round, assuming it doesn't crit.
Just makes the others easier to fold over, and decreasing TTK

Its true. TTK goes down this update. But mech scale improves. Realism/sim improves.
This makes the upcoming energy well addition that much more important. Allowing for this rescale to settle in and adjusting the energy well details is smart of course to. If energy well is ever added that is.
But like I already said, TTK doesn't go down for the Victor or Orion either way.

Yeah, they really screwed up there. They could have fixed the lack of tubes on the Victor and the horrible, horrible missile geometry on the Centurion, but they fixed neither.

I'm reasonably convinced at this point that PGI no longer remembers how to fix tube counts. Or, they are just lazy - or both. It still blows my mind that we've got assault mechs wandering around with 2 and 4 tube count limits on launchers. The funny part is that they've fixed such silliness in the past, but they seem to refuse to go through the game and fix all the mechs with stupidly low tube counts on their launchers. The Victor is the prime offender, but the Pretty Baby, who still has the left arm launchers capped at 4 missiles (thus preventing good SRM 6 builds) is another.

For sure, they know how to do it. They know how to fix tube counts, they know how to fix missile doors. They just don't want to spend the money doing it. The Centurion got its tube count fixed when they messed with its weapon geometry, for example. Same with the Ravens. There's nothing to suggest that they no longer know how. There's a lot to suggest they don't care though.

there is no reason to pick a victor over a zeus even if the zeus got inflated or the stalker that got even smaller (with excellent peeking hardpoints). the AWS-8Q will be interesting. 3xPPC 4xML build is going to be nasty.
victor needs some work. even with my terrible aim, is really easy to pop a ST off and kill one instantly if XL or take away the ballistic arm if STD.

I know, I know, it doesn't make anybody feel better.
BTW, yeah if the missile pods are too small to fire 6 missiles at once, that should be changed.

Wouldn't it have been relatively easy to fix that during the rescale? They gave the Mad Dog longer gun/laser barrels so why not the Victor or any other mech that suffers from poor weapon geometry?

Did Russ actually say he hates the Victor and if so, what did it ever do to him?
