So my intent is to be a scout pilot. The Jenner should be my choice for my Founder's package but I chose the Atlas because of a few reasons.
1. I assume the Atlas will be much more expensive.
2. The weapon load if it could be stripped off for other mechs is worth the choice.
3. I imagine we will have the choice of mechs to purchase and I would rather pilot a Raven than a Jenner so why have one sitting around that I won't use.

Am I looking at this the right way? Don't get me wrong it will be fun to pilot an Atlas every now and then, but will the exp and c-bill boost on a Jenner outweigh my choice of Atlas?

Guess you will just need to upgrade now. :)

It's so hard to say because so little is known at this point about the game.

I think I would have picked the Founder Jenner only because of the C-Bill booster if you enjoy the scout roll.

atlas has high firepower and armor, the jenner is harder to hit and fast. only thing that matters is how good you are with one of the mechs. if you do a good scouting job you will get nice cbills, if you are better at fighting with an assault you will get nice reward with the atlas.

I would just pick what is comfortable for you, period. The problem you may find yourself in is munchkin gaming, where you are more interested about percentages, bonuses, and the like instead of just enjoying the game.

I also think the main reason to use the founders mechs is the 25% c-bill boost. So I can't see anything wrong with your decision knowing what we do at this point.

Or you could go with a Catapult.

I didn't think about it too hard and just picked the mech I like the most, the founder catapult looks really cool. We've still got 80 bucks worth of ingame currency and I'm sure there will be promotional mechs with similar c-bill bonuses down the line if you just want a moneymaker. Plus I bet they'll let us choose a starter mech like a free player would so you could maybe get your free Atlas that way.

Also, in before 3 pages of people with yellow icons stating the obvious.

I would go with what you plan to pilot most often. With the credits from the Founders pack you will surely be able to buy a few mechs right off (if you so desire) but your Founders mech is where you will get a 25% cbill earning boost. Put that on the Mech you want to use most often of the four options; if that is the Jenner, then great! You want to get the most return on your investment possible, and that is how to do it :)

I would prefer to go with the Catapult myself but I am really curious about their version of the "Command Console". As far as I can see, the developers have not stated what it will be used for. I don't feel like I can make an educated decision until they release that info.

Many people enjoy games with bonuses, percentages, stats, trading. Some of the most successful games incorporate these.
Everyone is different.

I went with the Jenner cause I want to play the scouting role. It's a bit of a gamble as I don't know if I'm good enough to pilot a little fast mech. A safer choice would have been cat or hunch i think. If I'm ever driving an assault it'll be an awesome.

first off, there is no exp boost on the mechs.
the exp boost comes from the premium account.
secondly, the cbill boost thats on the jenner is also on the atlas.

what you get is this:
1. a jenner/hunchback/catapult/atlas with a cbill boost for life.
2. an extra bay for this mech.
3. premium account that gets exp and cbill bonuses.
4. some cash.

thats it.

because of the free mech bay, you will end up keeping that mech all the way. choose the mech you will use the most.

I guess maybe I should have said that to only be looking at that seems unenjoyable. I am looking forward to the management part of the game but I would hate to see people get overly stuck on it.

I bought my pack as a hedge. An attempt to make sure that I always have something that I can field. We have no idea how this game is really going to play in the end, or where the meta gaming will take it.

If I can buy a Raven right off the bat then the Jenner will probably never get used, but if I get the Atlas I am wondering if I can strip the weapons to use on other mechs. I need more information...hopefully, we will be able to change our decision before closed-Beta is over as they stated they will be resetting everything throughout.

Im still worried that LRM's will be underpowered. Based on the videos I have seen so far they seem really weak.

Do what I did and just upgrade for $60.....

That way you get 4 more garage slots, 1 month of premium.... those 5 things will probably cost about 10 bucks each. And you get all 4 mechs so you can play the 4 mech drop mode.
