I keep seeing this come up and it's a really good point: Aside from the map itself being utter trash, Seismic is useless. Is there a rationale for this?

Some communication from PGI would be great right about now. I'm totally happy about all the other changes in the patch but this is just beyond stupid.

Agreed. Choose one Russ:

a ) hotfix zoom toggle and rotate-with-my-orientation option functionality into the game

or

b ) rollback the minimap until those functionalities are added

The zoomed out minimap is very useful. For the drop commander. And only for him.

New minimap is a kind of mistake! It was a nice game few hours ago... now it's not. I will not get back to play until things are improved and working as before..

New map is almost useless and dificult to play with!

I want to point out that Russ was inspired by WoT's minimap, however, WoT's minimap is played at a MUCH larger relative size.

The new Minimap needs 3 Options:
  • Zoom
  • Rotate Yes/No
  • Center on Mech Yes/No
The Minimap as it is now is useless. Can't tell whats going on on close proximity.

First let me say that I'm a friend of trying to improve things. However, while I think the new minimap might be a step in a good direction, it took away too much from what was good at the old minimap. I played a couple of matches with the new map and instantly noticed that apparently I used the old minimap more than I was aware of. Because with the new minimap on the new frozen city I was completely lost. The layout of the actual game map is far too dim to be of any use.

Please, brighten it up.

Then, the new map doesn't rotate anymore. That's extremely annoying since I played with the rotating map for many years now. Maybe that's how it is in world of tanks... but I don't care. This isn't world of tanks Posted Image

Please, make the map rotate again.

Then, the minimap is too tiny. All I can see is where my comrades pile up.

Please, add zoom functionality or make the map bigger overall. or both. and brighten it up so I can actually see the terrain.

What is good about the new minimap?
I can distinguish the type of mech... once I learned what the symbols mean Posted Image That's cool!
But couldn't this work with the old minimap design as well? Why change everything if it's not broken?

OMG!!! You're kinda right, 3rd person would be a short term fix for the loss of directional info. I feel dirty writing this, but it's sorta true.

PGI has ruined one of the few functionally great aspects of their game. Why do they break things just to break it? Bring back the old map ASAP please. This new one might work if it was an OPTION and there was a keybind to switch between modes, for anyone who may like this garbage better.

Map so small. Can't see (squints). Need to equip a microscope module now. : P


Seriously, it is way too small to be of any use now. Also it does not turn relative to your position.

Please change it back to the larger localized area. It worked so well. The main map is only a "B" away anyway, we do not need a tiny tiny whole map on the display.

Just wanted to add that being able to see the mech's leg direction is very important along with all of the other points made. Yes, you can still hit the keys to line up the torso with the legs but that takes up valuable seconds in a battle.

Only the new colors of the minimap are good.
I think we need an option for lock or unlock minimap from the settings of the client.
We need the minimap zoom on our position and the grid cordinates on the quads of the minimap...
The new conquest icon are terrible...
With this minimap we can't see the morphology of the terrain and use for take advantage!

Actually is impossible to play or give cordinates to allies in the game.
