Simply double the LRM's heat generation.

Game is getting quite boring with the lrm spamming nowadays.
My solution is easy, practical and reduces lrms to what they should be: a secondary support weapon.
Not the button-mashing/win-all **** they are now.

You think LRMs are good? Are you sure your brain hasn't cooked slightly from the temperatures in your cockpit?

Sounds to me like you're salty that they aren't even worse than they currently are. Please, show me where the bad man TAG'd you.

They need to buff Los damage and try to turn it into more of a skill based weapon. Right now no one should bring it into battle because it's so bad.

I put it in a simple way.

CYCLOP 10 Q

Set up with 6 LRM5 = 600 damage media with no skill required, just sitting in the backlines and spamming a button.
Set up with 6 SRM4 = 500 damage media working hard in brawling and torso twisting and choosing my position with attention a caring about the targt to choose.

As of now having 3/4 lrm boat in a group in quick play means an easy way of winning even if those pilots have no skill at all, expecially after the ecm nerf (and i don't whine about that it was really needed).

There are too many maps and condition where a couple of lrm boats can change the tides of battle without their pilots having any skill at all.
That's boring.

What tier are you in? I find running LRMs effectively in T2 to be quite challenging on most maps.

If LRM mechs are making a major impact in a match, it's because the people getting shot at by the LRM users are almost 100% braindead. If you have the ability to process as much information as a goldfish you can stay in cover and prevent LRMs from doing a thing to you. LRM Assault builds? Their front lines are just that much squishier. I can't wait to see what happens when you realize you can just run radar derp and make LRMs incapable of hurting you.

Oh my god, you're so good players, sorry to have bothered you.
I'll go hide myself in the dark.

And from there i'll watch you all be killed by lrms rain as i have always seen happen in the last month and a half.
See you.

How to counter LRM spam:

1 - Bring ECM. It makes you perfectly safe, outside of a few specific situations.
2 - Use cover. It makes you perfectly safe, in all situations.
3 - Use Radar Deprivation. It makes concealment almost as good as cover, making you perfectly safe, outside of a few specific situations.
4 - Bring AMS. It will help protect your team, and you, from LRMs. The more people who bring it, the safer everyone is.
5 - Get close. IS LRMs do 0 damage inside 180m, and cLRMs do less damage the closer you are. If you see an LRM boat, walk up to him and get a free kill.
6 - Shoot UAVs. This one should probably be number 1, but since I'm listing these in the order that I think of them, I'll leave it here. Probably the number 1 contributor to getting lurmed to death is people not policing the sky. See a UAV? Say something if you can't shoot it, or kill the thing if you can.
7 - Let your team know when somebody gets hit by a NARC. It's simple courtesy, and if you do it for them, maybe they'll do it for you.

What he said. Generally, I only see LRMassacre when someone gets careless.

How to stop LRM-fest?

Saw title and assumed this would be another thread about how to:

Use terrain, bring radar deprivation, bring AMS (multiple when available, modules to increase effectiveness as desired), to not stop moving, to run ECM when you can, to bring direct fire weapons to shoot LRM boats in the face, and or all the above.

But nope, its a proposal to nerf one of the worst weapon in the game. Huh. Points for originality at least.

Also, remember that at the bottom left of your screen, if you've been NARC'd, there's a little indicator that pops up.

Guys, he's just using the same reasoning people use against ED. So it's fair game, carry on.

Sadly, there is no nice way to tell you you're doing it wrong.

But, just to be clear . . . you're doing it wrong. Levi's post tells you everything you need to know.
