I was hoping this change was going to be made before the release of this patch, but I was disappointed to find in the 'mech lab that it hasn't.

Please make it so that the Phoenix Hawk has a single-barrel pistol with the second energy hardpoint going to the forearm, and any third energy hardpoint added as a second pistol barrel.

The reasons for this is the lore and aesthetics. All original depictions of the Phoenix Hawk have the secondary laser weapons located in the forearms, and its even mentioned as such in official BattleTech fiction. Even the concept art for the 'mech when it was first announced for MWO shows a single pistol barrel!

Also, the 'mech's arms look sloppy and more asymmetrical than they should be with only one forearm mounting a secondary energy weapon.

Here are some pictures:

And of course the MWO concept art...

while we are at it, can we get the slimmer hips of the concept art, too? My Phoenix Hawk feels a bit more liek a Phoenix Turkey atm.

I find it weird with Roc they could of had the single laser on the gun arm and the twin lasers on the left arm.

Hahaha! You got your laser rifle, as done by PGI. I warned you all to be careful what you wished for!

I think the SRMs would look better either in a pistol mount or in the forearms as well.

How does it look like when you mount only one energy weapon on the arms? It looks really good when you put on a single ballistic (watching Sean Lang's stream).

It runs like a Turkey with a corn cob stuck up its tookus. Saw the NGNG TV video this afternoon and, seriously, this is what I thought of:

This. I'm not sure what happened to make so many people flock to the forum to whine about non-issues this patch.

I like the look of many aspects of the Phoenix Hawk...but the double barreled laser pod annoys me.

I wish the weapon that did the most damage on the arm got preference for the rifle/pod and the rest were mounted around the forearms/vambraces.

Right now I am intentionally finding builds for most PHX variants leaving a weapon slot empty because the double barreled laser rifle/pod looks like junk to me.

Because many of us care more about the lore, history, and aesthetics of these 'mechs than making them the most perfect war machines.

I'd rather have the Phoenix Hawk look the way I remember it as I played with the chassis growing up with BattleTech.

Why not have customization hardpoint locations on mechs?...

For eg 1 laser can be placed in the centre of the gun, if we want two we can have 2 on the gun or 1 on the gun and one of the forearm or what ever...

There is so many mechs out there that I wish I can simply reorganize where stuff is located. I mean like on the black knight I want my ST ER PPC's to me on the further side hardpoints rather then the lowest hardpoints in the ST.
I understand it will be silly for PGI to do this for all mechs like say having your Maulers gauss rifle nearly at cockpit level (the 3rd B hardpoint on each ST) but in the black knights situation simply putting small lasers first and then the ppc props it up... I do not want to have small lasers just to prop it up.

Sometimes a mech has a side mounted gun where I think I would love it more if it's under sligned on an arm...

And then we got the HUnchbacks: I want to have a PPC in the hunch and make it look the same as the Hunchback 4G/ 4H/ IIC/ IIC-C or what ever but just with an ER PPC or what ever. Or in my Ebon jaguar if I choose a singular energy for that high side torso it's centered and not off centered (or the Ebon jaguar that is meant to have both of it's E on the ST: why not let that happen?)
etc.... Wouldn't mind a little bit of customization in some mechs and hardpoints :l would help here.

This is ridiculous. There had better be a damn good reason programmatically that this is even an issue. Also, WTF is up with the inconsistent ballistic slots? Is it pistol or vambrace first? Pick one!

According to Sarna:

"The primary weapon on board is a Harmon Large Laser carried in the right arm which gives the 'Mech a weapon which can strike at an enemy at a respectable distance. This was backed up by two Harmon Medium Lasers for close range combat, one in either forearm. "

Also, the Phoenix Hawk has been armed with a single barrel rifle for about thirty years. Could we have it back, please?

lol there's all kinds of pheonix hawks, there was 1 i played in pencil and paper days with no lasers. just ballistics and missiles.
Stop whining and just put on 1 energy weapon per arm and it'll look how you "think" it should.

Yeas I'm sure it only had 1 lazer in battledroids but back then the wars were over water and ice...
And if MWO was all about putting in game what came first then stinger, merlin, and crusader would've been some of the first mechs. And if MWO was about how mechs looked then the MWO mechs you know would look different.

For the average players, I apologize for my rant, just too many trolls make it too easy to get them going and it's late. gn

I was hoping PGI would get away from the cartoon look, the pistol look takes away from an otherwise nice looking much.
