The only thing I ever wanted was 4xLB10-X. High mounted on the torsos like it is on the 3 gives me wet dreams. And no Omnimech ******** to deal with! Heaven. My new favorite mech since... tonight. Almost as fun as the DDC with 2xLL 3xSRM4 2xLB10x CASE

8 small lasers, 1 ppc in the chest, lbx 20, 2 asrm 6s. I've had really good luck with that.

Ppc for some range so I can at least do something while I close the distance. Then sword and board. I'll add the ppc in if my heat is low.

It can get how quick if you fire the small lasers all together.

Oh, that Godzilla seems like mine Beast when I starts to experiment and do some things for fun.

380XL, 21 DHS, 2 LPL, 1ERLL, 6 SPL, 2 SRM4 (+1t ammo), UAC-10 (+2t ammo), AMS (+1), TC1, BAP.
Heat management is good, eats some Godzillas on dinner. =)

Try some combos with 6 SPL + 2 LPL. It do very concentrated sunburn for breaching the hull for LBX 20 crits.

Thanks for sharing all these great ideas.

I've been having some success with Gauss+ERPPC+8SPL+2SRM4.

The 8SPL+2SRM4 do most of the damage. The Guass+ERPPC give you something to do until you are in brawling range.

Interesting... 1 MPL+8 ERML and 43 SHS works with nearly maxed armor at 100 tons. Or 9 ERML with max armor at 99.7 tons. I might try that on my basic KDK-1 for a game or two.

it looks good on smurphy but there is the matter of the downgrade cost, and the 1.5 mil re-upgrade cost when your done playing around.

KDK-3 with 4xC-LB10X is the most intense mech I know of right now besides the 6x UAC5 DW-Prime which is slow as crap.

I run KDK3 as a ballistic hill humper.... I do wonder how would the KDK1 do as a laser boat. Can anyone check this loadout and let me know opinions? The idea is a few ERLL for a long range, followed by close range high alpa strike. Not sure about the heat management. I am used to run my NOVA with 10x ERML with success.

Kodiak is too honkin huge for sustained laser output (MPL boat) and the medium laser/gauss builds are better left to heavies IMO

I just stuck srm6s a bunch of spls and an lb20, leveled its basics in 6 matches, then sold it

I subbed the SPLs for a torso PPC, just for more FLD. Shame the (S) is the KDK-1 Posted Image

So glad someones put this thread back into the light.

Out of all the mechs in my entire library this is the one I struggle with the most. So annoyed with it !

I'll have to try out some ideas and see if they work.

Never bothered past basics tho. The 2, 3, SB is all you need.

The 4 is better than the 2, but doesn't do anything the 3 can't.

Yeah, this is the Kodiak variant that I politely passed on because I'm OCD about having every weapon hardpoint filled with something and I just could not come up with something to fill 9 energy hardpoints, a ballistic hardpoint, and 2 missile hardpoints without being too stupid hot and having too many weapon groups.

You could move the 1 LPLaser to the CT if you wanted to keep one if the arm was lost.
