Aircraft torso chicken walker I hope (maybe Bushwacker).

Other than that design philosophy, I don't really care honestly. :/

The Nightstar is your answer. :D

Nova Cat.

The Prime, A, B and C all use current tech, while the F only has "Improved Jump Jets" (which could be emulated by quirking the side torso with JJs). PGI would just need to make a Hero.

I like the idea of a Line Backer, but another 65-tonner? We already have 2 of those.

Blacklanner, Piranha, Firefalcon. Not sure what to do for the IS without a timejump. Another solid IS medium with ECM or a Omni?(50tons+). IS light roster is pretty decent but could use another ECM variant.

A good ECM light would be the Spector. Anyway the IS still has tons of options to explore; be it Star League designs, be it designs created in response to the Clans (stuff like the Gunslinger, Falconer, Bushwacker etc.).

The problem is PGI focussing too much on TRO:3025. As iconic and cool as a Crusader e.g. would be, I think it adds considerably less to the game than the SL or Clan Response designs.

It's a very different mech than anything we have in the heavy class though. Something new

Chimera? Argus?

Both use not-yet-tech though, guess I'll have to wait.

On the IS side, Crusader, Wasp and Stinger should take priority. After that, the game is missing a lot of 40-tonners.

No opinion on the clan side.

Why in the world would you want the Whitworth when the Assassin is better in every way?

Yes we actually do need more assaults, Mediums & heavies have the most chassis with assaults in third & lights last. Charger would be fun but the Nightstar would be even better. :D

Rifleman IIC; an upgrade of the venerable Rifleman BattleMech. Five tons heavier than the design it is based on, the Rifleman IIC is also slower. This creates a great deal more room with which to mount other equipment. Further weight savings are found in the use of an Endo Steel frame. One of the first upgrades to the design was maxing out its protection, with eleven tons of Ferro-Fibrous armor. The vaunted anti-aircraft 'Mech is aided in its role by the inclusion of an Active Probe. To compensate for the loss of speed, the IIC mounts three jump jets that can propel the 'Mech up to ninety meters in one leap.
Simple, straightforward, and accurate; the Rifleman IIC is armed with four Large Pulse Lasers. This allows it to pick apart enemies from a respectable range, as well as easily target incoming aircraft. A single ER Small Laser is installed, seemingly as an afterthought. Nineteen double heat sinks keep heat mostly in check, though volley fire should be used.

Nova Cat; The twelve meter tall totem 'Mech of Clan Nova Cat is based on the Night Gyr created by Clan Jade Falcon. The basic components of this design, combined with its characteristics as an OmniMech, make it very simple to repair and leave room for the large amount of double heat sinks most variants carry. Thirteen and a half tons of standard armor make this 'Mech very difficult to kill.
The standard configuration is all long-range energy weapons, which, although allowing the Nova Cat to stay in the battle for a longer period of time, means the pilot will have to alternate their weapon choices to avoid overheating despite many additional heat sinks. Two ER PPCs are the 'Mech's main weapons, which are backed up with three ER Large Lasers.

I'd like an IS 40 tonner, Assassin to be specific.

Next Clan mech is the Linebacker, whether we all like it or not.

Not "super" overengined. Just overengined. They didn't go Black Lanner levels of crazy with it. It's still got 17.5 free tons and nearly 22 effective equipment tonnage if you account for locked heatsinks.

But it's fast. It will top 100kph. Has good spread of hardpoints, most of which in very good locations. And, given the precedent set by the rescale, it'd probably compete with the Catapult for "smallest" 65-tonner.

Tiny, fast, nimble, well-armored, and as well armed as the Stormcrow? I'll take it.

If an XL390 in a 65 ton mech isn't "super" overengined, well then I suppose no mech in Battletech should be considered overengined at all. It's ludicrous, with the only worse offender being the Black Lanner.

I donno. Phantom is up there too. I mean, it would be insane, outright sanic, but excessive....

After the volumetric rescale thing....i want to see the Flashman - tons of hidden volume, high hard points and finally a good engine cap.
the only bad about it - again only energy.... maybe we could swap the Black Knight for the Flashman - nobody likes Black Knights
