So what do you guys predict?
With the leaderboard event over when can we expect any kind of buff to the PXH?
How long before they proccess all the data?

What kind of buffs do you think would be most optimal to actualy make it viable?

YES we all agree it needs arm structure, how much do you think would be balanced?

The PXH-1 maybe AC10 quirks while keeping the medlas cooldown maybe?
Thats the build I-ve had most succes with in this variant of the PXH.

They wont change hardpoints so it will probably be just quirks.

give it like half a year they need to pump out the next several poke-mech preoders before they even look at the phoenix hawk quirk balancing

I say in 1-2 weeks. I'm usually close when guessing on fixes like these.

Ugh... specific weapon quirks. That becomes very limiting on builds. Personally, I'd rather they change existing energy quirks to genetic energy quirks, and just add structure to the arms on the -1.

For the AC 10… why not take an enforcer at that point? Cause that's what you do with putting AC10 quirks on a Phoenix Hawk. You make a fast, lighter enforcer...

Refer to Archer for likely timeframe for quirks.

For quirks, obviously survivability aside, I'd like some generic cooldown ballistic quirks for -1 and maybe 3S, energy heat efficiency for laser boats, and laser duration on the ones that are forced to carry LL/LPL because of low laser hardpoints. And not 5%. I'm talking something noticeable. Minimum 10%. And if they are going to stick with PPC velocity on the -1B it needs some PPC heat efficiency at the least unless they want the Vindicator to be that goto poptart PPC 45t then why even bother in the first place?

I overall like this idea, but would like to add some food for thought. For the -1b, the high mount makes it a solid single ppc hill humper. IMO, that differentiates it from the pop-tart vindicator. Plus ECM. I wouldn't say take the -1b over the vindy for its pop-tart ability, more for its high mount and pop-tart capabilities.

It's true it does have the nice high mount but if they do anything to make it comparable to the Vindicator it will likely do it flat out better because it's the same weight, about same size and can have the same loadout plus ECM. Do they want to balance the two for a similar role of PPC poke/poptart or do they want it to be something different? I'm sure they don't want to overlap the two chassis too much because then if all things are equal in survivability and quirks, you start looking at hardpoint locations and equipment. Then the PXH-1B blows the Vindy away if they ever get close in quirks. I did love the single PPC build though but it wasn't as reliable as the 3xERLL for me. If they shift quirks toward Vindy/Panther and make it more consistent (less hot) then I may go back to it because a velocity boost for me isn't enough to justify taking 1 PPC let alone 2.

I can understand that I suppose. They do run the risk of making the vindy more or less obsolete though. I ran my -1b with 3mplas in the arms, and an erppc. The ppc was for those wonderful snipefests, and the "whoops my arms are gone" while the 3 mplas were for more close in work. Didnt run my -1b for the event though, stuck to the ROC for that.

we're not buffing any hardpoint laden 45 tonners until the shadowcat gets something better than -2.5% heat reduction thx.

Clan quirks to not correlate to IS quirks. PXH doesn't run the risk of jamming 2 15dmg pinpoint ERPPC's down your throat. At best it's a 20 damage pinpoint alpha that's just as hot as clans. It should be compared to the other IS 45 tonners not the clans for balance.

If CERPPCs really did have 15 pp damage it would be a different story. I'd take 50% velocity quirks over a lame 2.5 splash anyday. And you really just said IS should not be balanced with clan. While I would like to have clans completely unnerfed, it makes your argument hold no water at all.

Probably about as much help as the vindicator got.

the shadow cat shits all over the PHX for sniping and pop tarting, The PHX silhouette is just way easier to hit and 2 clan ER PPC's or LPL peat out the equivalent IS loadout on it (best is 3 ERLL for the role).

Fitted out for close in work an arctic cheetah with 6 clan small pulse also tends to crap all over it due to superior hit boxes. and can be turned into almost as good a sniper.

there isn't anything the PHX can do that something else can't do better (and in some cases can do everything better)

Never said IS shouldn't be balanced with Clans. Said they shouldn't be compared because the quirks aren't equal between the 2. Like 10% range means more to a clanner than an IS pilot. Clan heatsinks also have different values. If you have an issue with your Shadow Cat then I suggest you make a new thread about it instead of jumping into one about a mech that is severely underperforming with completely different tech.

Clan are not nerfed they are balanced. This is from a Clan pilot who loves Uac 10s and 12 ton gauss not to mention that sweet XL (oh yeah half weight srms).

But my lore comes from the 1/2 off box in Wal Mart and it has always been Mechwarrior first with BT being the CroMag ancestry.

I really don't know what you guys are doing, but I feel that the Phoenix Hawk is fine as it is.

If it needs anything, it needs its hardpoint prioritization fixed. I still don't like how the right arm defaults to a double pistol with two energy weapons installed.

I think the arms could use a bit of help. Nothing crazy mind you. And I concur about the hard point utilization. Drives me bonkers!

The PXH-1B (ECM and one high torso mount) and PXH-1K (7 energy) while not stellar seem to be playable but the PXH-1 is a joke... It is quite deplorable in every measure. Not fast enough, light armor, weapons only on its arms and too few of them. Pretty much any light, medium or heavy can eat its lunch. And those god forsaken jet engine pods sticking up so high... transmit "Shoot Me" in every direction.

i'll take a better range quirk and some energy heat quirk on my Deuce. Then my next goal in it would have to be breaking 1100 dmg..
