never going to happen.
Maps too small, cryengine can't handle the speeds, etc.
At most, one might see AI controlled VTOLs and Conventional Craft, which of course, are there purely to swat. Player based? lol.
PGI.

I agree its not going to happen but I don't see why cryengine is the issue, there are other space games using it

Walking War Robots has quads, it's over there -->
I agree that proper aerofighters would not work but maybe LAMs would be possible as they could work as super jumpers.

Quads would be excellent but aerospace fighters and capital ships would be way better. WAY.

Ok the drama got off the leash for a sec there, but it would be cool wouldn't it.

Also Aerotech is Battletechs and Mechwarriors lands and look Call of Duty has entered more than MechWarrior Online has.
MechWarrior Onlines only saving grace is they got dropships, such as they are, into the game well before Call of Duty started on this.
On the bright side, thanks to Call of Duty for making an excellent promo video for what MechWarrior could do way better.

Most aerospace fighters are not heavily armored or heavily armed, unless they were also slow and turned like a barn. There are some notable exceptions but most could take 1-2 ML hits before your internal and wrecking shop. On some of the best omnifighter designs it is possible to take 2 shots and mount about 4 weapons when you consider heat management, fuel loadout and everything else. Add in MWOs borked heat scales and it would probably reduce your weapons a bit more. If they could designate the zones to be wider at the top like an inverted bowl it would work. Then there would be legitimate reasons for long range weapons and air defense, help it would even make UAC/AC2s useful.
