You need a break Bishop, you're burnt out. Make a clean break, don't play at all and don't read the forum for several months, the hunger might come back after that, and if it doesn't, well, does it really matter then?

I was away for a good 6 months as I was tired and angry with the game, the will to play was completely gone, then suddenly I got the urge to play again, and now it's more fun (usually) than it was before.

Funny thing about most of the old by bugs?. They actually added to the old lostech feel of the game.

That's interesting. What kind of bugs were you guys getting back in the day? I'm the kind of guy who like bug stories, spooky, dummied out areas, and that sort of thing.

Easier said than done, mostly because not finding other games to burn my down time on

Most were minor.

Minimap would mess up, go all rainbow crazy, HUD wouldn't load. Etc.

But we also had mechs that moved with a greater feeling of weight, delayed convergence, heat effected or BUD and could cook off ammo before shutdown, etc.

Hit reg was the biggest issue... And funnily enough, still is an issue. *shrug*

I swore I wouldn't buy the Marauder, broke and brought it. I swore I wouldnt buy the Warhammer, damn my rubber arm, it has fast become my favorite mech to date.

Definitely a MechPorn addict and I completely blame Alex and his great work, damn u!

Game needs improvement but shooting robbits is fun.

Seriously, like many have inferred elsewhere, I'm here because of the Battletech IP... Alex is the spoonful of sugar that makes the PGI medicine go down. Posted Image

and chances are, they'd still milk me out of at least another 20$ if they released the Assassin.... despite knowing I won't remotely enjoy playing it.

Hoping the Stock Button will help. Problem is what I truly long is a limited customization 3025 tech mode, but stock Will have to do.

Thing is.... unless it's limited to 3025 tech... what doe sit matter?

Naw, Lauren, Alexander, lots of the employees are doing their best, so I hope things go well for them. Don't curse the employees for their employers failings.

I don't even have animosity toward Russ, Paul or Bryan (assuming Bryan is still alive somewhere...) and won't wish poorly for them. I just... don't think I can care about their game.

Yes, There are some great mind and talents there, lets not paint them all with the such a wide, poorly colored brush.

Alex is the Piano man.

A brilliant flame surrounded by at best Mediocrity, and often Dumpster Fire candidates.

Don't do that, theres only one guy responsible for everything. Ive seen great improvement from map artist, the UI also got improvement, it all came arguably way too slow but there is only 1 guy to blame for the decisions about the game. Theres a website where ex-employees talk about past experience and apparently pgi is a nice place to work at with cool perks but you dont have a say about anything.

Its a BattleTech game. I play maybe one to two hours a night. MWO is perfect for such short duration play and I make enough that 'Mech packs aren't too much of a hit (though admittedly I only buy IS 'Mechs with cash money so not full whale).

Missiles had splash damage, and due to the way they were coded, a single SRM could do 12.5 points of damage depending on where it had hit. Fresh Atlas went down in two volleys of 6xSRM6 Splatpults. LRMs were also naturally strong as a result.

Hi, my names PUG and I'm a mechaholic, I have over 290 'Mechs and an inventory full of shinnies.

After 4 years of non-stop playing I still enjoy the 'Mech combat mechanics, although I have resigned myself to "enjoying the moment" and not contemplating what the game "could have been".

In all honesty I was ready to uninstall and walk away a couple of months ago due to hitting a downward spiral but the pull of the friends I have made over the years has kept me here. They even gave me the spur to start my own little merc unit and the laughs we've been having over the last month or so have beaten back the MWO Blues.

So, yeah the artwork is cool and all but I'm here for the social aspect with old friends and those friends I haven't made yet.

If I recall that was only for a few patches. And of course LRMageddon, but that was early Open Beta, not Closed, IIRC. Don't recall my SplatAwesome being that potent curing CB.

Amen to that.
Turning the tide in a 4-8 fight cause of disconnect in the last know moments I got the HUD bug - only 6 Kills instead of 8

Lag Shooting - "shoot this darn Mech!"
"I do all the time"
"no your shots miss by mere two meters"
Aiming for air
"how does it look like?"

Yes hit reg made it impossible to hit fast targets (including speedbacks or speedsomes) but at least you had the option to let them trip

CB was great even when the only reason might be that there was another roboshooter - Hawken.
With Hawken down? And Whale Mechaddicts there was no need to deliver.
Not going to happen anymore

I can respect that. Was able to overlook a lot when HARD was still a thing, because of the social aspect. Lot of good guys came thru that unit, Pat Kell, Agent 0 Fortune, Wispsy, all former teammates. Still see a few from our Steeles 1st Legion days from time to time, like Silent SooYun. Good times. Had a lot of guys in other units I was on good terms with, too. DHB, CI, etc.

Still a member of Clan Ghost Bear International. Good unit, good guys, but just not the same.

I know a lot of my old unit went over to KCom with Pat, but I my limited dealings with, again, just not the same.

IDK, never found hit reg as bad as claimed, except with PPCs, but that was more to them spreading damage all over the place, than outright missing. I ran a Centurion as my main ride (AH), and killed Lights pretty good (ditto when they took away my AH and added the YLW). Got to learn a lot from Wispsy, and was able to even tag him pretty regularly with my AC.

And StreakCat abuse hadn't nerfed Streak2s into uselessness, so between 3xSSRM2 and my AC20, and no ECM, Commandos and Jenners died pretty easily (since everyone ignored Cents in CB)

Aye, the number of players that have just.....*gone* over the years is really depressing. I was scrolling down my "online" friends list on Monday and my wife says "Oh, that's quit a lot of people online". I then kept scrolling to show her how many were NOT online, she just said "Oh dear, do you see many of them?".... a LOT of really good guys and girls on there that lost faith and patience with IGP/PGI and will probably never login again.

Oh and Wispsy, what was it again? "Your souls"... "I claim them".... always made me cringe a little LOL. I used to reply "Gotta find me first" and he usually did, wee git!! :D

I invested quite a lot of money in MWO, therefore I feel compelled to stay, at least during events.

In the same boat. I have played more during this last event then I have any other time in the last 2 months. Also spent a bit on this game but not lately. Guess I'm just a weekend warrior ATM.
