OK, mind you, some here aren't spending money (any more, or at all, etc), either.

And make no mistake, I think they have a lot of people in their art department working overtime. And I'm sure the programmers are willing and ready....if they got some direction to actually ADD something or Fix Something. But all the modelers, artists, programmers, etc..... can only do what they are directed to do by their bosses.

And it seems that direction is..... definitely not focused in a direction most of us have spent the last 4 years deluding ourselves it might someday turn to.

Yet every time a new (Inner Sphere... for me Clan Mechs are largely meh) Alex Concept piece drops... i start reaching for my wallet.

I'm still here because I'm a Mech Porn Addict.

But actually playing the game any more? MEH.

So that's me. Why are you still here?

When I started I was an enthusiastic whale for the art, the IP, and the potential.

I was a less than enthusiastic whale but a more enthusiastic player during P2 (last year), because I started to really enjoy the game play and dropping with like minded folks. Still spent $ for the cool looking mechs and nostalgia "unseens" but just to feed the pokemech addiction.

Following P3 and the April town hall, Russ cured me of my pokemech addiction and now, while I appreciate Alex's artistic contributions, I couldn't care less for more mechs. I remain for the people and the pleasure of dropping with them.

Can't wait to see how goodie crates affects my outlook.

Sometimes I think about MWO and the satisfaction of destroying a fresh mech before they have time to react or some other totally sweet moment. Plus building mechs is fun. Really, the appeal of a lot of my mechs only exists as an idea though. Ooh yeah, my knife only mech will pop guys before they know what happened, ooh my PPFLD will get em good from so far away. My mixed build lrm 30 5xerML Timber is sooo well rounded, etc. etc.

Then I play in them and reality sets in that rarely do I get the map, team, positioning trifecta of perfection to allow me to get those really tasty moments with such builds. It's sort of a roleplay for an imaginary world where my mechs get to do something else. In the end, however, there are no engagement circumstances that exist in MWO besides killing 12 mechs on the other side of an arena. After a while it gets boring. I get fed up with bad matches, teams that refuse to do anything but walk into meat grinders, early deaths, repeated maps that I keep losing on, or whatever other minor frustrations. Then I remember that I don't have to play, so I stop playing. In a couple months, I'll have put it all out of my mind. I'll check on MWO to see whatever sweet new mechs are going to be out and repeat the cycle.

So yeah, I guess Alex's artwork is kind of the only reason.

Alex is the Piano man.

A brilliant flame surrounded by at best Mediocrity, and often Dumpster Fire candidates.

So yeah, pretty much.

Nearly every other aspect of MWO is mediocre at best. Many...honestly probably most every other aspect of the game than his art is sub par at best.

It's my hope that when the dumpster known as PGI, that Alex is the only one that has a career afterwards, and that he gets steady work for reputable game companies.

and chances are, they'd still milk me out of at least another 20$ if they released the Assassin.... despite knowing I won't remotely enjoy playing it.

Hoping the Stock Button will help. Problem is what I truly long is a limited customization 3025 tech mode, but stock Will have to do.

Thing is.... unless it's limited to 3025 tech... what doe sit matter?

Naw, Lauren, Alexander, lots of the employees are doing their best, so I hope things go well for them. Don't curse the employees for their employers failings.

I don't even have animosity toward Russ, Paul or Bryan (assuming Bryan is still alive somewhere...) and won't wish poorly for them. I just... don't think I can care about their game.

I invested quite a lot of money in MWO, therefore I feel compelled to stay, at least during events.

I do like the new mechs, and I buy more than I'd like to admit, but what really keeps me coming back is I love the mech customization and battles.

I could have bout a used pickup for what I put in. And I don't begrudge it. I just plan to save future money for that used pick up.

Mmm melon collie.

Seriously though. It is real. I've posted elsewhere that it originated with P3 and the April Townhall. That is when Russ could no longer hide his disdain for us and the game. If he can't even fake enthusiasm for "his game" or those marks who play it, how can we possibly be enthusiastic about it?

The devs will be more receptive at the players when they're responding to melancholy rather than salt.

I have been a scrooge over my mwo time. For the most part is has been very much Alex's most excellent art and the art team's work of getting a mech working in game that keeps me loging in. I don't whale or buy many mechs. I have currently 76 which is really quite a lot. I've bought a few heroes that were chassis I like and play a lot such as the hbk-gi or the captl-j.

I'm an IS core-ist as many of the clan mechs just don't attract my attention. I bought the timber wolf when it came out for the ala carte and did the same with the jenner 2cs. There just isn't much in the game that keeps my attention much any more. 76 mechs is more than enough. I plan on making the BB Cat the last mech I buy later in the year when money allows it when it goes on sale. I'd spend money on another mech but with all the past town halls of russ being "I tell you what you want" and the massive fubar of the mini map fasco has me believing pgi really can't keep up the used mech salesmen for much longer. They don't care about the mech you just bought;only that you buy the just announced mech pack. But wait there's more! A patch putting in features they removed or turn off is coming soon in ninety days! It'll change the game forever and make mwo the e-sport of all e-sports.

Mayhap we will revert to the long lost use of the forums where nobody really cares about the game and we're just here to talk about cool battletech stuff. And the meme thread surges back into obscene numbers of posts.

Also we need a way to give away MC and Premium time. I've used a grand total of one 30-day chunk since we went live years back, I'd rather give it away to people that will use it rather than hoard it waiting for the time i can activate it in smaller doses or only count when i'm in the game (which is less than 2 hours a week)

Back in Closed Beta we had a pretty good feeling one, even with all the bugs ( and there were plenty of those)

Funny thing about most of the old by bugs?. They actually added to the old lostech feel of the game.
