Ok the nova is stupid strong.

Not saying this as the guy who got wrecked by one, but as the guy doing the wrecking.

My build is 12cersl 4cmg 1ton ammo and a targeting computer.

I'm really short range, but I've jump jets decent speed and armor to make the most of it

With the tc and huge (assault level) damage output, I'm able to quickly dispatch even dire wolves.

Hell if I run straight into the enemy team and pick out two targets I can eliminate them before I go down.
Not torso twisting.
Not ducking to cover
Just running straight up to the first mech face tank him, firing ct until dead
Then turn and pick another tgt to run straight at firing till it's dead (and me too as override is engaged)
Match will end with 6-10 assists, two solo kills kmmd, 400-500 damage done with a few psr increace
That being said, I usually play more tactfully.. But give. I can so easily take out two targets yolo style...

Or.. Working as intended?
It does have to close to 200m to work so...?

the nova was always able to do that.
the only thing changed was its size.
ppl have to aim better now when facing it thats all.

Not to be rude or anything, but when you're tier 4, People tend to not aim as well as a usual tier 2 pilot can.

I've tested that myself, went in a pitiful champion Crow and did 2x the damage I would normally do. and this is from someone who doesn't fancy crows.

I think novas actually are now playable and are fine as is.

But hey, if you're wrecking endo in a mech you feel is OP and should be corrected, feel free to discuss.

When I see a Nova I aim for the arms/side torsos depending if its turned or facing me.

I think the size rescaling is really working out for this mech.

The Nova does no more rage now than it ever did. It's a tiny bit harder to hit, and had some quirks REDUCED, but it does no more damage.

Your nova would do even better if you dropped the machine guns and ammo and fit maximum heat sinks.

Well, before nerfing the Nova, i'd like to wait until Ghost heat 2.0 comes.

Heat management difficulties, short range, low speed cap.

I'd say it's definitely not OP.

Glad you are having fun with it :)

Tier 4 is very forgiving, so is Tier 5 when it comes to how well the enemy aims (probably why I blazed through T4 leveling my Wolfhounds and Phoenix Hawks, just need a few more matches to get to Tier 3, but, that is a whole other can of worms). The thing is, what you have is what is called an Assassin Nova, it is meant to ambush a mech and melt it, right now you are getting away with more than you should, but, that build it still good but more situational than it appears. You have to get close just like an SRM bomber but once you do you will hurt whatever you are looking at and likely take out at least a few components before going down, that is the power of massed short burn low damage and low heat weapons.

The Nova is not over powered, but, assassin mechs are very powerful if they can get into position and the Nova can be outfitted to be one of the best potential assassins in the game.

^this. Every time I see one of these with MGs, I get sad. Heat sinks are a better use of that tonnage.

It's only two tons for the mg. already have 4 extra heat sinks. And with trigger control, heat management is fine.

I find the mgs are great for that extra umph when chewing legs off mechs.

And I'm not talking about the rescale. The mech is just seriously maneuverable and deals tons of damage and is uber survivable

All this being said I LOVE my nova. Just feels like cheating in a way

And yea. Could be the tier I'm in.

Perhaps I'll just put it back to stock prime and tool around that way.

A picture is worth a thousand words...

They are two different worlds, man. When you get to the higher tiers the players aren't always "better" but they stick together and when you charge a line of twelve 'mechs that focus fire on you because other folks are hiding... well...

That's usually the result.

Oh, and no, the Nova is not OP.

lol

I'm giggling at the thought the nova is OP. I remember when it was so bad. Now it is decent. Finally it is decent. Hell, it's about time.

I have an idea: we nerf everything into the ground that disturbs tunnel vision combined with peek-a-boo fighting!

I guess since the general openion is that it's fine, I'll just keep on rocking it. Really is a lot of fun

Just feel dirty when I eat assaults with it. And melt lights in seconds.

Feel more dirty piloting this than I do with my Daka bear or lolcust for sure.

:)

Should be a little landscape picture in the text box where you type in, click it, copy picture URL and paste.
if you're on mobile it's . and put the URL between the two img brackets.
