Here's my ON1-IIC-B, I landed my Johnny-5 in this mech. It is a consummate brawler and a heavy-slaughtering monster in many circumstances. I also upgunned the engine to a 325, which is exactly heavy enough to gain another heat sink.
ON1-IIC-B
The Large Pulse Lasers give this build a lot of flexibility, I have them paired on the offside of the Ultra-10 to reflect my experience with trading in this mech, if you trade well and don't take much return fire they are great weapons as the distance closes, and synergize very well with the Ultra AC/10.
The pair of SRM-6 launchers end up doing a lot more work than you expect them to as well. I like having AMS and an Active Probe whenever I can justify the weight and space. This chassis certainly has both because of the thrifty hardpoints, encouraging sensible mixed weapons loadouts rather than single-purpose boating.
I like this build as a Champion because it's not just potent, flexible, and free of crippling weaknesses, but also because it is a great starting point, swap out the pulse lasers for ER and lose the AMS to get some tonnage to play with.

With only 10 double heat sinks the Orion IIC does not suffer over heating issues even in hot environments at Alpha Strikes are not the attack protocol here. With all three missile launchers set to chain fire at a target, heat will creep up on hot maps, but with so much damage on target, you do not have a target left before you over heat (Even against assaults).
I am often criticized for not having defense on my missile support units, and this is true with the Orion IIC. My reply to those that question this lack of defense is simple. I have 11 other Mech Warriors who are able to defend be against fast moving Mechs while I kill the enemy Assault's. The keys here is good communication with your team and situational awareness over just stationary positioning.
This configurations let me come in the top 5 for the Orion IIC ladder competition back then the IIC's were released.
ON1-IIC 3xLRM20 + ARTEMIS + TAG + CAP
Isn't it better to be great at one thing than average at many?

ON1-IIC with 2UAC10s, 3ASRM6, and 2CMPLs.
So we take it slow with an XL300 and cover it in an absurd amount of mid-short ranged gun. The UAC10s and CMPLs do a passable job of midrange dakka despite their low mounts, and the UAC10s and ASRM6s put out an absurd amount of hurt in brawling range.

Named for its ability to "bite" off chunks of any mech unlucky enough to catch itself in close proximity the Wolf's Maw is a brawler specialising in abush with good speed for chasis. Unlike many brawlers this mech is not designed to utilize alpha strikes as a primary source of damage.Using Srms/spls open a section first and then the twin lbx to destroy internals.
Moderate alpha and high sustained dps with ehough speed to close targets. Normally used in support of Larger assault mechs until distance is closed with the enemy.

With a 3 SRM6+Artemis, a punishing UAC/20, and 3 mediums as backup paired with the largest engine makes this build a formidable opponent on the field.
Engage with a alpha of the UAC and SRMs and Wail away on unsuspecting oppoents with the double tap of the UAC.
With DHS in the legs, engaging in the water even gives it a bigger advantage on the battlefield.
Also, may the best build win! and I congratulate whosever build is chosen.

Can fight lights? yes
Can fight assaults? yes
Can poke? yes
Can brawl? yes
Full armor, lots of (well positioned) ammo, beagle, targeting computer, no ghost heat...so, despite the 3 groups of weapons, as far as it's possible with an Orion IIC, this is noob friendly.

x1 LB20-X_______________[3 tons ammo]
x4 SMR4 w/Artemis IV____[4 tons ammo}
x2 Medium Pulse Lasers__[18 DHS]
Really hating that almost every single champion mech is a laser vomit build. These are in part to help new folks learn the game and different ways to play, but every one is the same thing, well.. you can't really learn! I'd like to see a few more LRM suited mechs, too. But, can at least start with a proper brawler.
Upclose boom that is a bit on the hot side. But with the long cycle time of the LB20-X, it's not as bad as it could be. Really wanted to help show the power of an aSRM barrage. Two MPLs aren't very hot and are pretty spammy when you need them two, while the SRMs offer a great armor smasher, with the LB20-X there to exploit that weakness. There is enough shots for 25 full fire shots of the SRMs, while the 21 shots of LB20-X should prevent one from running out of ammo, especially for a new player.
