Is any one else wanting many of these maps to look more alien and less murky. For example bog could be bright at night or in day and with color. Not just a green and brown murky swamp. Or a dark murky swamp you only see in heat vision. (With new day night cycle coming Tuesday. And looking at preview video.)

Why? I always use Heat Vision so I can see mechs through leaves, branches, and other garbage that clutter this map. What would be the point of more colors?

Ya they should probably just remove all color from the game and have it all run in something like heat vision. Then they could make maps faster and optimize the performance. You would also be able to run much lower quality texture maps etc like 200x200. Maybe something like this.

Well the upcoming patch's Bog will have these pretty glows! Especially at night time.

Tis pretty. I'll give you that. I'm more excited about the claim that my Atlas might be able to actually walk up the various and sundry stairs scattered about the map though.

Oh I know I posted after watching the preview video. But the difference is a few add on bits and an over all color pallet and luminosity level of the map. The map is 98% green and brown with murky lighting. Posted Image

But I am a big fan of the mobility changes to steps etc.

In the grim darkness of the 31st century, these is only greyscale.

Still too Green, Green water, green rock, green trees, green fog. I do however like the glowing plants and stuff. The purple is a nice change from GREEEEN!

IF a map is mainly only one color, making the Sky and the Fog the same color really turns into a blob. Where in nature are rocks the same color? Ever? Or even a whole enviroment?

When are the Bugs, Fog, Water, Trees, Rock, and even Sky the same or similar colors/shades of each other? Trial mechs are even green...everything is green!

Its the same on Grim Portico or Plexus, beautiful map with like 2-3 colors used on the whole thing. Gray and shades of gray and then some more white with gray in it. Need the designers to walk around outside for a while before then make maps, get some inspiration for the colors and how much it can make or break a map IMO.

Better yet, Make them watch some Bob Ross before they get started...

Not only that but its an alien world so it can be any color combo or brightness the designer wants.

Lets just hope the new Bog offers similar advantages to both sides, especially on Domination mode.

Seriously?

You want to know why they don't use more colors on Bog (or any other map for that matter)?

Have you seen how much MC they CHARGE for a color? Their just trying to save a few bucks.

It is called VIRIDIAN Bog. I don't know about you but, where I come from, "viridian" is a form of green.

I just dont think they use many colors in the game in general. I have art programs at work with 1,000 shades of blue.

It just seems like they only use an config that is cutting out on the colors, maybe it this cryengine.

These bogs could be considered mainly Green or blue green, but notice the other colors found in nature.

I would assume that if a bog earns a name like "Viridian Bog," it's probably pervasively and spectacularly green. Otherwise it's just "bog".

Any chance the original heat vision is coming back?

Again, so because a BOG is Green the Whole planets Sky, rocks, and water are also Green?

Even if said bog is mainly green, the water, the sky, the composition of the planet. And why are we stuck with colors of earth plants? Why not some orange plants life? Or something even more radical to make it feel like im not walking around on a bog in Mississippi?

while it looks good, it also looks crap. whent hsi light doesn't reflect ont he water it just starts to look unnatural.

The diea is great, the execution half done. either add soem true reflections or just some simulated oens by adding lightsourced at the water below the plants.

I don't use heat vision in matches except during snow storms anyway. This looks really nice.

The original heat vision was way better though. :)
