Spread damage FTW.

If you did a full alpha with double tap thats 160 damage and Atlas should be pretty much down. Bad shooting is bad.

Except it wasn't THAT spread...according to the target display i was only striking the torso.

There are 3 torsi so you should specify which one you were hitting.

Long-Tom ... Take this **** out! I allways think, this was a game with Players, who piloting there 'Mechs.
The Long tom is a " Legal "- Cheat, nothing more.

- You know that Atlas have really short range and usually killed from distant in no time? You know that all longrange weapon = max 30dmg and easy destructible? You also know, that speed in atlas isn't atlas good side? And atlas with gauss and XL engine - dies in few seconds? I just feel sorry if you brought speed Kodiak with uac10 to a distant of less than 300m... But from 500-600m that mech easy target and die even with all its power, because can't hold so much longrange weapon as Kodiak do. Atlas already nerfed... not only by its speed, weapon and range, but also by bringing more and more longrange maps where it become useless as assault and brawler... So - kodiak really powerful mech. And soon atlas become unplayable even with zombie mode.

Do you not understand...even if the total 460 was spread to all three torsos...there ISN'T enough armor and structure there for the mech to survive, without its excessive quirks. 460 damage should KILL a mech. There's no logical reason any mech should be able to take that to its torso and be running still.

I was at 500 meters...i was right in the optimal for my guns, which is 594 meters....but this atlas wasn't built short range... three ER-larges and triple LRM-artemis. (I believe it was two 20s and a 10). There's no rule players have to build mechs the way you seem to expect they will...plenty of Atlas drivers do NOT build them as short range brawlers.

Locust structure dequirks

Meh: Supply cache - hope it makes them money to reinvest into the game.
All other mech quirk changes - really don't think they were needed

@Dee Eight ... I probably would have spammed dakka at that heresy, as well. It deserved to die in a ball of fire.

LT, RT: 42+42 Base Structure, 28+28 Quirk, 84+84 Armor; CT: 62, Base Structure, 31 Quirk, 124 Armor

Assuming he didn't twist any damage onto the arms, an Atlas has 525 HP in the three torsos.

Also, an Atlas wouldn't need those excessive quirks if we didn't have 'mechs that can deliver 460 points of damage in about 30 seconds.

- All LRM in one torso which easy to break down with Clan UAC10 + targeting computer II or III, because of it's crit-chance. That components also take ERLL with them (side torso + arm). Also, in close combat IS LRM useless... and 3 ERLL - too hot for any Atlas. So - knowing build of enemy - 3 step to your victory. Long range atlas weak mech and easy put down because of low power and high heat. With LRM it can't do anything vs mech under ECM or radar deprivation module. So - playing smart is prime goal. But what you can do to prevent direct hit and survive when Kodiak use quad UAC10? Any mech easy lost weapons, side torso or even die in few seconds. ECM wont help you, radar deprivation not cover you from deadly hit. Its perfect aggressive weapon... and only chance to survive - have enough armor and structure. But still - quad clan MG easy rip components from mech without armor. In my atlas I often loose guns, they have no armor at all. Anyone know how weak torso with rockets - it prime target always. Even in zombie - Atlas can be damaged but alive.., and have no weapons to shoot, when most of clan mech have plenty of guns to prolonge battle.

Of course it doesn't help that the game has a hit register bug...which while it still counts damage being delivered, it doesn't neccessarily actually take it off the target's healthy.

The Marauder Nerfs were totally unnecessary, the Mech is so huge after resizing that it can't be missed

Catapults are also not small enough to deserve such a severe dequirking. From what I can tell, it may become a useless "SquishyPult" after the patch. I'll unfortunately have to watch what happens, as PGI doesn't have enough 'common sense' to stop themselves from doing something so insane before it's too late. <_<


Which reminds me... They totally did NOT fix the 3rd-Person Problem with the Clan Hex Warhorn, which is a real letdown. :(

Was it fixed when i dropt CW-Invasion on IS side, that i missed one 'Mech, but instead have a Trial-Comando ?
