Oh no PGI !

You just have destroyed Frozen City with the last patch and now you do the same with Viridian !

Yeah, of course, I haven't played the new map but I know that it will be worse, because nobody of the Map designers haved played it after the modification - and now we have again a map which is unplayable !

And with the last patch you pimped the Locust with a dramatic decreased size, even if it was very small before.
Now you have seen the match scores (and surprise, surprise) you now need to nerf the Locust !

The nerfing and pimping system of MWO has gone insane and with every patch it is getting worse, because you need to fix the failures of the last patch. It's the same problem here -> when you never play the Mechs you change, you dont know the effects !

And that is a thing that will never change !

it sounds like they really haven't touched it much other then the center hills everything is ever ascetics or pathing improvements

I guess you're not a fan of passive tense.

PGI wording is not the best...
Just read the "tips" during the loading screen... A few sound like they were written by 6th grade students.
I'm pretty surprised that some of those are put up in their current iteration. There's a handful that are long winded, and the "tip" is actually not very helpful at all. They could be reworded to be clearer, while saying the exact same thing with less words.

Some just state the obvious, which aren't really helpful at all.
"Teamwork = Victory"
Wow. Quality contribution.

Pros:
  • Reducing some of the heavies' bloated agility quirk
  • Decals could be fun

Cons:
  • Light mech class is still in ruins. The class which is about speed and agility...has no agility anymore. Just look at the quirks other mech classes have in this department and then compare it to the light mech class.

The "set of eight" thing is new with this patch and the VPR ... on the VPR, some of the torsos get mobility quirks, but to get the weapon quirks, you have to run the CT-variant's matching omni pods. If you switch out omni pods to rearrange hard points, you lose the quirks.

In the long run, I hope they do this for all omnimechs. It will make sense for under-performing omni-pods to get structure, armor, or mobility quirks, but no min-maxing omni pods for the best combination of both quirks and hard points, it's either one or the other.

This is how I hoped they would handle the Hero Omnis, but I suppose it makes sense to handle them all this way. Bigger, more meaningful quirks on the under performers without the headache of making 1 killer combo.

It just dawned on me, and I almost didn't notice due to the overnerf to Catapults... That vertical animation that the UAVs had was one of the only things helping it stay alive. Are we going to get any extra HP on the UAV to account for the lack of aerial movement? Otherwise, they're going to be dead before they get much of any use. That would then result in obsoletion and disuse by pilots seeing how weak they've become. Of course, we know where that slippery slope goes. :(

Ok, here's a very serious thought, if people are thinking the same, please like this comment and I'll push this to PGI as hard as possible and show them how this community feels about the quirking system and the need for a new system.

--------------

PGI, can we kindly request a feedback form on your website to help assist on the future directions of quirks for mechs. The current blind system seems to be failing everyone by what I can see (read).

If the webform allows people to select a mech, request one or many positive OR negative quirks via checkbox, and then force them to enter a reason why, you can collect the data and go by what the community have gone by. Of course you have the final point of decision making no matter what but this a great starting point.

p.s. If possible it would be nice to show transparency on what the community had voted but I can understand if you wish to keep this hidden incase people are deliberately trying to nerfhammer their opponents.

I don't play the game since the last patch. This one is the icing on the cake !

You nerf the only mech i was having fun last time i play : the locust. Don't tell me it's a game breaker light mech !

Also you nerf the Cheetah, one of the only viable clan light mech ? You nerf the nova, it wasn't that powerfull too.

I really don't understand the logic behind the new quirks. Why nerfing the Marauder and Warhammer ? They were powerfull but not game breaker at all...

Of course you have to made adjustments to the game, but why all of the quirks changes seems to come from the void ? Anytime the decisions are odd like hell ! HELLO ? The Vindicator is still a piece of crap ! Why you don't adjust the quirks, you hate him or what ?

For the rest of the patch : decals, yeah funzy like hell but expensive like the colors. The bog update : good news. The viper : seems very cool, but i don't want to give you more money right now.

This patch doesn't make me want to play again at all. I think this summer i will take a small break. After that it'll be better to come back, maybe ?

It's gonna be a great patch! In the end all the nerfing will only make you better. Supply cache is a sort of gambling, so take it or leave it, PGI is still gonna try and make profit from it (just hope the whales don't become an endangered species ;) ).

Major thumbs up for decals, saving system and Viridan (hopefully)!!!

Leaderboards, hm... a display of gorillas banging on their chests, besides that... I don't know. In the end it's just a game which I happen to like very much and try to enjoy without being over frustrated by the fact that nerfing or buffing won't mean a squat over my lack of precision or situational awareness resulting in players being better than me :) But... there's always room for improvement which my leaderboard stats essentially have nothing to do with.

All in all it'll be a good patch, keep up the good work PGI, and keep the bad work in the ...now that I think of it... there probably isn't a bad work, just the result not bringing the wanted outcome ;)

Have a good weekend (what's left of it) mech-bros!!!

"PGI is still gonna try and make profit from it" - thats the only thing they actually care about ..and thats the only thing that is true from your post. make profit by making the game easier for tier5 and tier4 bobbies.

In a very large sense they have to care about it. A company needs to produce income otherwise they become insolvent, so it's a symbiosis of some sort. We want the game to exist, and not only that, we want it to be good by our own standards, which can differ from user to user, and they need the income for salaries, development, ... But that's not the point.
The point is if I want to gamble I'll go to a Casino, and while I advocate the above I just don't see the gambling component of this game as my contribution to their revenue.

If I understand you correctly you're trying to say that lower tier players can buy their way into higher tier or aquire skills by paying real money.

I have to disagree with that.

If someone who has just started playing MWO happen to have experience with first person shooters, or have a basic knowledge of team strategy, or have a very steady and precise hand, then those are his strongest attributes for being good at this game and will help him advance faster than others, however the amount of stuff in his inventory definitely won't matter that much.

Also I believe there are many things true in my post, at least for me, and that's what forums are for - for stating an opinion Posted Image

Another Patch, another Nerf for IS? Great work. Who dicide the Quirks at PGI? The janitor?
Marauder and Warhammer are the last Mechs to fight FP.
And why kill the Catapult after one Month of rebirth?
But the IS mechs are so OP, you can see it on FP Map.
And the Nova was realy no Problem!

After that it was even harder to find a FP game, at least there are only 100 - 200 people. How many after this Patch?

lol Longtom

no reason for this to even be in the game let alone dropping every 2 minutes for at least 1 kill every time so that's 10-14 free kills minimum without even seeing the enemy..

reduce the total allowed per match 3 or something ..don't see why any of us should get any free kills

stop being so damn stupid

Was it actually necessary to nerf the already glass jaw catapults by taking away structure quirks by -50% with this "patch"? That is HUGE. Was anybody calling about how OP the catapult was? Nope....if it ain't broke, don't fix it. First you put it on sale last week, then this week you nerf it. Thanks for making all my catapults completely useless now. Its gotta be about balance PGI, you just can't have all the clan mechs uber (kodiak with no ghost heat...really?)

When will the clans get their comeuppance?

Locusts got a shrinkage. Thus they no longer needed the armor quirks to keep them alive.

I am mostly positive on this patch but I will say. This will destroy Locusts. I have them and do okay with them. That being said I find the Arctic Cheetah a much better mount. In a one on one the Locust had a chance with their speed and maneuverability. They are currently very fragile. Now any decent light pilot will have a huge advantage over a Locust.

I always hear heavys cursing Locusts; pilot one. It's a really different experience. Fast, fragile, blah firepower, tiny cockpits with bad field of view.

Guys I do get tired of profit bashing. No profit - No game. It's called Capitalism. I run 9 stores. If we don't earn a buck: No stores and no jobs and the goods and services we provide go away. Same for PGI.
