Higher tier players don't necessarily have better teamwork/coordination in pugs, but individually they are often better players. Pilots' instincts at T2 are probably better, leading to a more reasonable set of strategies and responses to the ebb and flow of the match, but pugland is still pugland. You won't see as many LRM assaults shooting missiles into the walls 50 feet in front of them, but don't expect miracles in terms of communication and teamwork.

Well the Locust nerfs will make everyone but the light pilots happy since the only reason to take one out now is if you want to die in the first 30 seconds of a match.

After watching the nerf/buff wars for some time now, I've decided to join those who will not spend any more real money on mechs. Especially since your cash does not guarantee you'll be getting or keeping what you paid for. When simple whiny folks who haven't spent a dime can affect the performance of your purchase at any time for no real reason other than they don't know how, or don't want to spend the time to learn how to beat the specific target, then there is no real reason to spend cash. You'll end up with what we call in America" bait and switch". I'll support the game with premium time purchase and play time but the cash purchase of mechs, as things are now, is basically a no go. My Cyclops comes in next month but I no longer expect to enjoy those for more than 3 weeks. That's about how long it takes the whiners to get new mechs shredded.

Ahh, sorry. Dumb mistake there. Fixed.

I've also updated the Clan Quirk document to fix the numerical error for the Cheetah (now shows the correct percentage, instead of '###') and to fix the New/Current column naming error for certain Clan 'Mechs.

Edit: I forget something ... Was it fixed when i dropt CW-Invasion on IS side, that i missed one 'Mech, but instead have a Trial-Comando ?

This should have been resolved with the April 21st and April 28th hot-fixes. I haven't seen reports of this since then, but let me know if it still happens for you.

Silly D V Devnull... thinking that Tier actually MEANT something...

It has never meant anything in this game except as a way to form, grown and maintain one's E-Peen and then use it to smack other people on the forums around while accusing them of being Tier Scrub morons who have no clue what they're talking about.

...or at least that's what it effectively turned into.

Seriously, the Tier System is designed pretty much ensures that with enough hard work you *WILL* eventually reach Tier 1.This was intentional (or, at the very least, explained when the system was first discussed and implemented).

And as pointed out by a poster in the feedback forum this weekend, who's only been playing the game ONE month...but with 20 years of FPS experience...he's gone from tier 5 to quarter-way thru tier 2 in 30 days. Eventually Tier 1 will likely take him another week.

Ah thank you very much for the prompt fix! You know now that the "#" are gone I suddenly feel so much better about all those mechs being f*cked up. Glad to know PGI has so fast response times for the community's concerns...

Assault revamp is currently slated for September release; the July Road Map was recently updated with some changes, including the new tentative release date for Assault.
We'll be running Assault on PTS prior to release, but no ETA for that just yet.

Well, if you got it before this mess and are now unhappy why don't ask for a refund if you want to support our position?
If you got it after, then you are happy with how things are, which is fine, I don't see why anyone would object in people supporting something they actually enjoy. (Just like I did with this game some time ago)

It was always said that it "might" be in as soon as July. It was also stated that it would be put on the PTS for testing prior to that. It was not finished. It has not been tested. Look for it in September.

God Damn I'm a twisted person. Every time I read one of these doom and gloom exchanges my mood becomes bright and I'm happy. I need to dig up that meme Wendigo used with the bear plowing threw the snow that reads I love salt.

CN9-AL got hit hard in this patch, but why? Posted Image

This. I own one and I rarely play it because it doesn't seem all that great, just ok. Did it become a huge OP meta and I missed the memo?

On another note: I have said this in the past and I will repeat it. PGI (like many other online companies) often presents a product that they know it is OP (on purpose). Players buy it, they enjoy their time of supremacy and then due to public outarge, the company is forced to balance it (nerf it). Although this approach has some short term benefits (big sales) it ends up with all parties being angry and some will possibly quit because of that. Those who paid money are screaming that "this is not what they paid for" and those who didn't, scream for unfairness since after one item is balanced, another one OP appears in the market.

It is much better to try and present something balanced from the beginning and have lower sales but happier customers.

Sometimes I think this too. Look at the mega OP Kodiac 3. The must have mech and a gift to the Claner and Merc units to stomp IS-Pugs and show the IS-Loyalist how stupid they are not going merc as everone else after the Phase 3 Desaster.

But on the other side the last 3 IS Mechs were mediocre (Rifleman), subprime (Archer) and near crap (Phoenix Hawk, most of them. The Heromechs of the PHX are maybe some of the worst mechs in the game and complete useless). And they weren´t fix to an average level by now and were hit by the Rescale-Nerf (Rifleman slightly and Archer hard) too.
No one need them. No one must have them. You can have fun with them but they are not "viable". Butterbee (In his best times a worse C4) will killed by the new patch too. Why in hell should someone buy a Buttebee?

I do not know what PGI do and I don´t know what they think what they do, but new mechs are not everytime OP. Many new mechs (at least IS-Mechs) are lemons and I fear the Cyclops will be the next IS lemon. Some are so worse, that PGI should pay us to play them :-)
