Decals OP PGI PLS Nerf

No just a giant solid-colored decal completely covering the cockpit glass, but not blocking or obscuring the Mech warrior's vision is just one more step further away from "realism". But I know, you and many others just want a silly game where you can use decals to make asses on your Mechs or to make "pedobears" (don't even get me started on the mental illness that is the "pedobear").

Overall, though, I like the decal system and I am not asking for it to be removed from the game.

Well, this patch made my FPS go down a notch, especially on Viridian Bog. Game is not optimized at all and probably will never be. Even with my GTX 980 heavily overclocked i get FPS dips to 40, when other games, newer and more complex graphically games are just flyin. Even my old GTX 770 ran MWO exactly at same performance if not better.

I had this idea for a while now..I'm under impression, that most of MWO's problems and shortages are because of the old CryEngine engine limitations. Not because of the team or lack of ideas. I might be wrong, but.. I mean this engine is ancient. Can the game be greatly improved while running on this engine? Or all we can expect is just new mechs and some minor improvements till the game dies? That's all there gonna be for this game, most likely? I mean just a bit of improvement on Viridian Bog map and FPS goes right down. They can't add nothing more to Academy because of memory issues. Then there are hit detection issues..and so on. And virtual reality..dream about it..although it would be cool. Imagine piloting mech with Vive or Oculus on..I'd pay a lot for that!

Am I wrong? Cause if I'm right and we can't expect nothing really major out of this game anymore..its just sad..

^^ the game is dying. Even die hard fans i used to play with are dropping out at increasing rates. It seems that the tukkayid events were the catalyst for a lot of players to go sod this. Ahm oooht.

It is not dying, I have heard people say this after every patch for the last 4.5 years.

FWIW I just dropped back down to a slightly lower resolution, and I am running at medium/high settings instead of mostly low settings, and getting significantly better frame rates. Trying out some new combinations every few patches helps you find the sweet spot, which does seem to move.

VR probably isn't realistic for this game unless something major happens. I want nothing to do with VR, personally. Not my cup of tea.

It saddens my heart to see the state MWO has fallen into. This patch and it's necessary patches patch and the hotfix scheduled are the most blatant display of neglection I have ever witnessed in a game (and i play quite actively since about 1991). I wonder if PGI will have paid actors posing as engineering staff at the Mechcon because at the very latest it should become obvious how little engineering talent this company has been able to keep or to acquire.

As a founder and veteran of about 7780 played matches, I will be taking a longer break now from MWO, spending my summer with other things and maybe give this game another chance when Mechcon is over (or cancelled) and the little remaining developers are free to care about the game again.

Okay... I'm double-pissed now, post-patch. Catapults should NOT be easily ripped apart by SRM Locusts and StormCrows that back-flank your team, and I do try to check my rear! PGI, please do a 50% UN-nerf of your quirk changes, and then maybe you'll have this one right!!!

I guess my Catapults will not be getting mastered any time soon. Elited was all I could do before this nerf. Now I simply have no chance of getting at the Master Module Slot now. Getting ripped apart before I had a chance to do anything sucks, and I don't do Rambo while I'm piloting them. Time to go pilot my ShadowCats and anything that didn't get nerfed, because things that did aren't usable anymore. -_-

And as pointed out by a poster in the feedback forum this weekend, who's only been playing the game ONE month...but with 20 years of FPS experience...he's gone from tier 5 to quarter-way thru tier 2 in 30 days. Eventually Tier 1 will likely take him another week.

This tells me that he has won far more games than he's lost (nothing wrong with this) and has generally performed very well with each game that he's played (also nothing wrong with this). It just means that all of that all of his FPS experience has translated well into making the most out of MWO which is, at its core, an FPS game.

...which further illustrates the point that the Tier ranking system at it's core means nothing...

decals or this update is killing my frame rate. I lost over 10 fps without changing a dam option.
With an I7 and a 4gb vid card that shouldnt happen over one update.
How can I turn off those dam decals ?

So Viridian FPS = worse now, something needs to be done about that ASAP.

Kodiak 4 x Clan UAC10 = Unusable. If that was the intended idea, then ok it worked.

But get this, 2 x CUAC10 + 2 x CUAC5 = Great.... but randomly MASSIVE spikes... wtf is causing it?!

Supply crates, this somehow vaguely needs to be given on a performance basis, not even top player but maybe top 6...

Some muppet just got a crate for doing hardly anything !!

Yea, and I worked hard, in 8 wins no crates though :D

Anyway, "CONNECTING" takes wayyyy too long.

And the player count keeps going up.

However, the number of Good Ol Boys you dropped with from years ago goes down, therefore game = dying.

Last 30 days on steam charts saw the first INCREASE in average players since Jan (though it of course only launched in Dec). Of course the steam sale might have been a factor, and running event to event to event to event with no break...And of course all of July #s aren't in yet but the June average per hour was 950 and the last 30 days its 1055.The peak player number is the same though at 1,850, so obviously that day happened sometime between June 20 and 30.

Unable to turn environmental effects and fluff off in Viridian Bog - Not being able to get rid of the clutter - rain drops on the water, flowers, moss and sunlight glinting on surfaces for example, has dragged frame rate down to mid 20's, i.e. welcome to the world of stutter.

Please re-able the functionality on custom settings so this kind of intrusive, frame reducing frill can be turned off.

I will believe that the game is dying when it starts to regularly take more than five minutes to get into a QM on the NA server (at any time of the day / night).

The Nova hasn't been nerfed as far as I can tell. Sure they may have taken structure away, but if I let myself get down to no armor, I expect those components to be missing pretty soon after.
