Hi I'm a returning player, been away for 3-4 years.

I've been using 4xUAC 5 KGC to great effect and was thinking to buy either the Direwolf or KDK next to do a dakka version as well.

May I know what is the difference between the Clan version of UAC5 and IS UAC5? Would the effect be even better to boat Clan UAC 10s?

the main difference between the IS UAC5 and the Clan UAC5 is that the IS version fires a single shell for 5 damage, or double taps for 2 5 damage shells, the C UAC5 fires 2 shells for 2.5 damage each, or double taps for a total of four 2.5 damage shells,

other differences are that the Clan version is 2 tons lighter, uses 1 less critical slot, and 30m longer range compared to the IS version.

as for CUAC5 vs CUAC10, the 10 fires 3 shells rather than 2 meaning you have to hold it on target twice as long to deal full damage, has 90m shorter range and fires a slower projectile, it weighs an extra 3 tons and takes up 1 more slot.

you did not ask but it is worth mentioning the Clan normal ACs have a bit extra range but are twice as expensive and take up 1 more slot, unless you are desperate for a bit of extra range, or love the slightly diferant firing sound, do not buy normal Clan ACs, they were origionaly put in as a placeholder for LBX ammo switching but it looks unlikely that we will ever see that feature

It is also important to note that for boating c-UACs, the ghostheat limit is 2 for the 10s, and 3 for the 5s. Things will get pretty toasty if you dakka over those numbers.

The ghost heat on uac5s is pretty negligible. Only noticable if you are running say 6 of em and constantly firing all 6.

The ghost heat on 10s wasnt too bad either, but as per patch notes the mechanic was a little broken.
