I've done this.
If you stay too long in this position, you do become very much an object of ridicule due to the odd patterns the keys will leave indented into your face.

Trust me, the softer surface mentioned above is a much better option.

Thanks for all the replies guys! after researching mechwarrior all night i have come to the conclusion that it blows mechassault out of the water. Oh and some of you dont have to be so rude because i am new to this game and it looked like mechassault to me....So ya gonna go buy my founders package now

I didn't mind MechAssault, it was fun for what it did. It just wasn't a console MechWarrior, which is what I think what people wanted and why they got/get angry at it.

People on the internet are grumpy and irritable and don't like having to read/write the same things over and over. But I think that new members of the BattleTech community are always welcome. That you took the time to research on your own and then come back speaks volumes for yourself, IMHO.

to the OP. No this is not like MechAssault. MechAssault is a pale comparison to real MechWarrior titles. There are no health pick ups or ammo pick ups. You go in with a set build and fight. It's much more like simulation then action which in all honesty is a whole lot better.

Ya i figured now that i watched all the gameplay videos. Now to me the more realistic it is the better. So mechwarrior ftw

Let me start by saying welcome to MWO.
As you already figured out its not like mechassualt.
The two games have very little in common.
Hopefully you will come to like MWO just as much as you did mechassualt, proably even more so.

As you already experienced, trying to compare them in the presence of the MW fans is a bad idea at best.
I have 2 pro tips for you in that regard, though I'm sure you allready know this.

1. Ignore the Trolls.
2. Do not feed the trolls or they will come back for more.


It truly saddens me to see that so many people, some who claim to be adults, can be so condescending towards someone who comes here and asks a simple question.
I wonder how you would react if you were the one receiving those insulting and condescending remarks.
At least there are people here who know how to answer a question in a proper manner.

The game is based on the Battletech universe. So yeh it could be considered to be similar to this game. Other then you might see some of the mechs from Mechassault here, that's where the similarities stop.

Okay thank you very much to the people who answered politely!(: im a newbie and i like mechwarrior more than mechassault now. Oh and to the other people why do you have to be so ******* rude? Its not like im insulting you? I didnt know that many people hated mechassault.

If you really want to know what's going on, you should check out the original Battletech board game.

Its like DnD, but with giant fighting robots with only one goal, destroy your opponent.
