For the record, I'm on a potato laptop that doesn't meet the minimum specs for this game, but it ordinarily runs fine between 25 and 70fps depending on the map.
My tourney client still runs butter smooth, it's just the live game with the recent patch where I'm having issues.

You should pay attention to the time of day when that major lagspike occurs, seems to be tied to time of day changes, though there does seem to be a slight variance on when everyone hits that spike.

We're still hoping for better netcode that aren't even in the plans/roadmap for 2+ years now.

I can run all Crysis games with 60 FPS stable. MWO barely manages to produce 25 FPS on some maps. Nothing to do with CryEngine.

MWO starts running, then half a second in, everything freezes. cursor, keyboard unresponsive. Even the clock stops. I decided to sit there and see what would happen. My computer restarts after about 3 minutes of this.
More to the point, MWO is poorly optimized. Yes, people say "You should be getting good frames, it is something with your rig, not MWO." Guess what, if someone should be getting good frames, then it is MWO. That is what poor optimization entails. Not only is the low end of PCs affected, but it is a roulette for ANY computer trying to run it. In 2012, I figured everybody would be able to raw power MWO into running well within a few years, but MWO has proven especially poorly optimized.

I agree. It is just a nextgen (not really, even) effect to throw in with no rhyme or reason. Hey, it is cool to have a day-night cycle in my big open world mmorpg or something, but there is no point to having 15 minute day/night cycles for instanced team deathmatches. It isn't cool. It does not add anything. It is a stupid implementation, but I think everybody cheered for it just because their eyes were hazed with NEXTGEN NEXTGEN NEXTGEN. Honestly, I just find the day/night cycle annoying.

Are you using fullscreen or full windowed? Windows 10's window manager seems to cause some issues unless you're fullscreen, like its trying to vsync it or something.

I'm using ''Fullscreen exclusive'' in my post says no vsync too.
''Windowed Fullscreen'' enables windows 10 native vsync with tripple buffering. but in my settings this is not the case, thanks.

in the MS xbox gaming settings, is the screen recording on? that one bit me in the tail when I first installed Windows 10. 2x 980's at the time and maybe 50-60FPS until I turned it off.

River City Night was one of the most hated maps - for a reason. Closed Beta - Predator Heat Vision - hitting a jenner at 1600m with ERPPC booohjaa - not much damage but it was a great feeling.
Today its the best feeling when you see a target 500m away. Maps like Viridian Bog are full of noise and glitter and stuff you might miss an enemy because your senses are overloaded with stuff. Gozilla Volumetric Size Mechs of Fusion an Metal and you can't see them.

Something seems to be wrong, indeed.
I have seen this too, and I have noted that it seems to happen when/if I collide with another 'mech out of the spawn point. IDK if that could cause it, but it seems to be a pattern.

Yeah thats my issue as well. There is no reason for me to suddently get lagspikes on maps that haven't been "enhanced"
