From my observations over the last couple of years it seems to me that a lot of the folks that make up this community, particularly those who have been here playing...and funding...since the beginning have so much emotional investment in the game, the IP and PGI's management/development of it (or lack thereof) that many truly cannot address even minor things like goodie crates or doopy looking dekals without a virtual Krakatoa of lost hope and mistrust spewing forth from their keyboards. That isn't being a ****, or even being merely impolite, that is simply how one with several years of pent-up frustration might discuss something they care about and that they feel has been mistreated. I suppose that is not a particularly constructive observation. Oh well.
And I understand that frustration as someone who has been a whale for years too. I'm even someone who left in disgust for a while because of the pricing of Wave 1. But if we want to get answers to our questions, then why be a **** about it? If he just wants to vent, thats fine, but don't set it up this way then.
I mean, if he phrased his questions more nicely and more constructively, does it mean they
will get answered? No, it really doesn't. Does it mean it's more likely? Yes.
Look at the thread yesterday about the false ghost heat on UAC10's. That for the most part was a constructive thread and we got Paul coming in to talk to us about it. And it's even getting fixed in a hotfix. And honestly, it felt really, really good to see the forum used like that by both parties. Paul of all people has probably taken the most criticism out of anyone working for PGI except maybe Russ, but he still took the time to discuss it with us and I respect that, even if I rarely agree with some of his balance decisions.
While PGI is hardly perfect, us being far from perfect as we can be doesn't exactly work well either. Two wrongs not equaling a right and all that jazz.
