Yeah, if you are gonna be a ****, at least be constructive and polite.

We wonder why PGI gets tired of the forum.

I'm not apologizing for half the stuff they do or don't do, but ffs don't make it even worse.

From my observations over the last couple of years it seems to me that a lot of the folks that make up this community, particularly those who have been here playing...and funding...since the beginning have so much emotional investment in the game, the IP and PGI's management/development of it (or lack thereof) that many truly cannot address even minor things like goodie crates or doopy looking dekals without a virtual Krakatoa of lost hope and mistrust spewing forth from their keyboards. That isn't being a ****, or even being merely impolite, that is simply how one with several years of pent-up frustration might discuss something they care about and that they feel has been mistreated. I suppose that is not a particularly constructive observation. Oh well.

Did it often bear results from Derek? If no, then this is a lateral move. If yes, hurray!

I assume no.

And I understand that frustration as someone who has been a whale for years too. I'm even someone who left in disgust for a while because of the pricing of Wave 1. But if we want to get answers to our questions, then why be a **** about it? If he just wants to vent, thats fine, but don't set it up this way then.

I mean, if he phrased his questions more nicely and more constructively, does it mean they will get answered? No, it really doesn't. Does it mean it's more likely? Yes.

Look at the thread yesterday about the false ghost heat on UAC10's. That for the most part was a constructive thread and we got Paul coming in to talk to us about it. And it's even getting fixed in a hotfix. And honestly, it felt really, really good to see the forum used like that by both parties. Paul of all people has probably taken the most criticism out of anyone working for PGI except maybe Russ, but he still took the time to discuss it with us and I respect that, even if I rarely agree with some of his balance decisions.

While PGI is hardly perfect, us being far from perfect as we can be doesn't exactly work well either. Two wrongs not equaling a right and all that jazz.

1) "So and So has been awarded Supply Cache" Pop Up is annoying. Only the person receiving should have to see it.
2) Pricing on keys, like several things are poorly thought out. While inexpensive, it's bad marketing to sell 1 key for 25mc, then 10 for 250mc. Even App Based Games on my Cellphone give discounts or bonuses for buying Bulk. 10 Keys for 250mc should either get a discount, for instance, or 2 Bonus Keys to entice. (Similarly the "Ultimate Mechpacks". You'd see a large uptick in sales of those if it gave one more than "the convenience of saving a few clicks)
3) Uncertain value. Give me a reason to get excited about opening one.
4) Honestly, the concept in general is gimmicky, and personally I dislike it. I get PGI needs to find more monetization Avenues, and the less effort for reward, the better for business, but it gives a cheap feel to the game. Give Us actual customization options and you'll find people willing to make those microtransactions a lot more readily... aka features the playerbase actually wants and asks for.

I realize Russ is on record telling us He and PGI know best and we realyl know nothing and have nothing of use to contribute... but you see that also extends to contributing with our wallets.

I'm glad to see you and several Devs more active on the boards, for the moment, but we've seen this pattern before...and as soon as things quite down, the Dev presence goes away again. We realyl should not have to ignite multitudinous dumpster fires to have Dev Interaction.

There. I don't claim to speak for the community, but those are my issues with Supply Caches, off the top of my head.

Perhaps providing free keys as parts of events, or other ways, to Promote people actually trying out Supply Caches initially will dispel some of our uncertainty and distaste. Hard to say. I do know most people simply feel the best course is to sell them off sight unseen and move on. Which if that is all that happens, really seems like a waste of time put into developing and adding said feature.

Make us excited about them, PGI, instead of just telling us we SHOULD be excited, and grateful. Like respect, real excitement and enthusiasm is earned, not demanded.

This is while not word for word, pretty much my views on the subject.

The pop up is from a personal perspective so irritating I find it very hard to log on presently. might seem stupid, but its hard enough currently finding some pleasure when teams seem to fold so fast, this just adds to a level of irritation that, takes it across a line that makes being around no fun at all.

As the title says..

and I truly do not expect a reply from PGI or their admin/rep...

1. Do you research your Ideas BEFOR you implement them??

2. your supply cash system is very weak and underwhelming, another attempt to get MC from players??

3. Did you really look at the decals in game BEFOR you implemented them?

4. and finally do you think your player base is ALL under 12 years old...because you continuously treat us as such??

this has the ability to be an awesome game but why do you keep trying so hard to drive players away...Dose Russ hate this game so much now he is unknowingly trying to kill it???

these forums are full of people BEGGING you to do something other than asking for money to help this game..
Please...................

This topic is dishonest and just being insulting. There are a lot of updates and features being added that are not "asking for money".

Bishop, I've collected the points you have brought up for feedback to be forwarded. I'll continue to do so from what I find on the forums, including the patch notes thread.

I will note one thing about threads and feedback, personally I find that when a there's a big discussion on a thread about a specific subject/feature where players are debating and discussing a lot, it makes it easier to see what the "hot topic" is and what the critical things that a lot seems to agree on. This is probably why it appears that we only respond to uproars.
This doesn't mean we want to see everyone be angry about anything to react, I just mean that the popularity of a subject really helps and shows how much it affects the community and how much we should consider putting our resources on. At least much more so than a thread with feedback of only 1 page which doesn't stay in the forums for a couple hours.

As I said in a previous post, I'll try and respond/post more, but please understand that sometimes it can be too early to give you any responses as to what the plans are in response your feedback.

How would the uncertain value be addressed in a way that satisfies both players and PGI well enough? Is there just not enough of a chance to get something good from a crate, or what?

Would it help if you could spend more MC at a time to have an increased chance at getting something good, like higher quality cache keys or something?

Free keys from events seems like a pretty good idea, but anything else in mind?

Same poop different patch,, only time we see PGI on forums is after much fail,, damage control..
Terrible patch,, the hotfixes back my statement up, Decals never seen them implemented so badly in any game ive played ever.
I thought they went to monthly patches so they could provide quality patches, well that didnt work out did it? do they even test these patches, dont say you do cause that would make it even worse, if you say you do all i can say is really people tested this and still you realeased it?? ohhh my.

Bishop for years i just laughed at your blatant white knighting (ya i know youre going to refute this but it was blatant, i think many will agree with me) but now brother youre becoming my hero. I consider you the fat lady, and your song is being heard all over.
Keep it up brother.
I keep hoping that there will be some sort of improvement so i can come play again but it just keeps deteriorating, minimally viable i think is something they wish they had its really much worse..
Disgruntled? ohh shi.. yes, took alot of effort to keep it this civil.

The supply cache was poorly implemented. This is true. I would have called it prime salvage. And would have made it available to all players. With a 3-12 hour timer, depending on the quality. The option to pay MC to hire techs to instantly restore the salvage item. But that's just me.

Honestly. At this point. I'd be happier with some optimization passes to improve how the game runs. I was in an FC match the other night and my god graphic lag. The server lagged at one point as well. Everyone pretty much griped over teamspeak as soon as it happened.

Those of us that are level headed enough, understand that it takes time for the true effects of things to settle in, and that it takes longer for a proper response to be figured out. That being said, there have been several things done to MWO, that have left us all scratching our heads, trying to figure out why. The largest of these were the "adjustments" that were done to MG's so long ago to render them near useless, this directly punishes more than a couple mechs that would need / want to make use of them

That being said, I am happy to see that one of the things I though was intended, truly wasn't and has hopefully been addressed now, UAC/s triggering ghost heat on themselves, something I've done more than a few times with UAC/20's.

As for me and supply crates, they feel out of place to me as a whole, and are honestly something that irritates me in other online games that I play, but I treat them as free in game currency, and once in a while actually open one. I would've suggested if going that way to directly award a piece of salvage, that is a clone of something used by someone on the red team.

I believe there are FAR to many post articulating exactly what is wrong with YOUR Product, I would be happy to post a 40 page manuscript pinpointing the many Flaws in your product and your business model that even thought the Forums post BEGGING for you to do something other than put out mech packs that take us until November are Legion.

Now , who MWO is a truly Pokemon Faceballwarrior Online ,PGi will reduce the Damage...the Damage from Years of ignored all Stuff from The bT Universe, the most Ideas from the community ...Thats the same statement we to the Time of the Transverse Distaster .."we will all Doing to bring the founders back" ...
PSR and the new Playerbase is a very bad Joke, the Game in Pug now more like Robocraft (perfect for the Pokemon decals)
many Energy to make MWO to a esport Title ...BT is in first line asymetric WAR!!! Tudors in space .Only the Solaris Worlds a aspect for Esports
bring Decals in a Strong Military Universe with Manga Pokemon Faceball style and very terrible Layout ...Rescaling , bring the Catapult and Nova near the Lore, with the same Step, make the most mech to Gigantic targets and pump of the only more Loresized class in MWO -the Lights to Medium and heavy Sizes ...FW ist only Quickplay with Respawn, all planets and worlds have no strategic or Tactical Sense..of teh other Hand , the new Maps wunderfull , The Artwork from Alex= very state of the Art, thats all positive Components ,to sad, thats the negative Aspects all this ruined and bring the Feeling and ambient from the BT/MW universe to zero

Constructive to me might be doing something about the tier system. Reset it or something to make it harder for clubbing baby seals in quick play. No one wants to continue when they are insta killed over and over and told to get better noob. Out of 30 or so I got to join not one is left. The curve is too steep and they all said so. No reason a 4 or 5 should be fighting me in 3 and no reason I should see mostly 1s and 2s. I am either clubbing others or being clubbed. Mostly being clubbed these days because only the hardcore are left.

Honestly most of that is probably due the high tier guys making alts and low population. But over all its not working. It did for about a week. Getting more aggressive against exploits and outright cheating would make it seem like you were actually trying. Remember when any group is oppressed they want blood to pay for their suffering. Pretty simple that.

Work on PVE for those who get tired of dropping in reference to above. A vacation from the grind would help a great deal and help hold interest. Now if you sick of being beat its just log off.

Everybody is pretty sick of the flavor of the month with mechs. You could easily test beforehand to see a new mech is seriously overpowered. Again it creates class division. Then after the nerf those who spent real money feel slighted or ripped off.

You have a serious problem when assaults are useless in quick play. No one wants to spend the most c-bills for a useless mech. I have seen many good ideas here to rectify that.

And above all do not let the faction/team player dictate what solo should be. Ask those who play it before they move up or those who play it exclusively. I won't comment on team play or CW because its not my place to so respect should run both ways.
In game surveys might help with that.

I would have bought a lot more in the past and even today if I felt anyone there gave a care. Many feel the same.

Beyond that you need to listen to the lore guys, the founders. They brought this game up and honestly know better then most anyone else here. Those of us who are not into the lore learn a lot from them and you chased them away. Maybe you should reach out to them and mend the chasm that's been created.

I like the gamble in principle (and awarding cache keys in events instead of MCs), but let me note one important thing:

The chances of the gamble MUST be known to the customers.
The UI implies equal chances (1/8 per item).
If that is not the case, there must be a clear textual hint in the cache UI to state that this is not the case.

Otherwise, PGI is intentionally scamming its customers by luring them into spending money under a false impression/promise.

I must strongly suggest to not make such a mistake. Scamming customers is kind of bad for business.
