I think its pretty simple to make supply catches work better as something fun. They need rare items that you can ONLY get from supply caches. These would NEVER be related to performance of mechs but always related to cosmetics and collecting. So you would have special cache only decals, war horns, colors etc. The way it is now you are better off just selling the caches and buying exactly what you want.

It works. Perhaps a pure gold/plat color/camo?

Why play the random loot cache when you can probably spend less money on getting the items with c-bills or MC directly?

So I've gone through 4 loot caches since they dropped. It lists 8 items and one of the eight could be in the cache.
Simple 1/8 odds right? Well it doesn't seem that way. Every single item in the cache ended up being one of the worst on the list.

So you have 1/12 odds of getting a loot crate. Then you have invisible odds of getting anything you want. Considering these can only be opened with valuable MC it's starting to feel like a rip off.

The invisible odds is true. Patch notes were vague, stating the more valuable an item is the rarer it is. This can be implemented 2 ways.

A) Supply Cache has equal chance for all items shown, i.e. 1 in 8. With mostly low value items and a few rare.

B) The chances are not equal for each item you see in a cache. if there is a flamer or SRM2 you are MUCH more likely to get those than a mechbay or MC.

Most players n the forums seem to think B) is how the caches work. PGI has not published any data either way.

what they need is fanfare and sparkles as you open it and all this jazz so you go "OOOOOOOOOH!!!!" when opening it to sucker more people into buying them..

But don't worry you'll start seeing new patterns coming out... but only in supply caches soon enough

Would definitely like some special metallic camo's with the supply caches....

I wrote my little pre-amble before supply caches came out, and gave a quick little blurb about what I thought would be neat:

Special Decals would be far more likely than metallic camo's.

Who could misinterpret this?
It's obviously #A!

Yeah, it needs rare cache only modules like

makes the game more fun 10%
fixes lod issues on river city 50%
fixes invisible corners on HPG 20%
Balance the game perfectly (Consumable: 1 use)
