Much as the developers frustrate me with their blatant incompetence, I still enjoy shooting you guys

Why should I buy a new mech and get garbage teams over and over? Especially the garbage mechs they have been releasing lately.
Take for instance the Viper. There is someone who is in the top 5 position on three of the leaderboards saying what is wrong with the mech. And, some white night, who isn't even on the leaderboard, is arguing with him that everything is fine. I don't know, who would you trust to give a proper review? Someone who says everything is fine, with no proof. Or, someone who you can see is actually playing it?
PGI better stop listening to their "inner circle" people before they lose the majority of their customers. Besides the Kodiak, the last 4 mech releases have been undesirable. And, all the current preorders have crap locked that will be useless. Four locked JJ on the Night Gry? REALLY?? Maybe they should find some new "inner circle" people who actually have business experience.

I did buy the Cyclops and was gifted the Night Gyr.
I think I am done for a long time though.
At this point new mechs are just variations of a theme at best.
The meta has been stable for quite some time now - barring ghost heat 3.0 - most of us can look at any new mech and already tell the best way to run it. With very small exception it has been a long time since something truly new has been brought to the table.
To top it off, with longevity concerns I find it very hard to invest any more cash into this game

I have little to no faith in PGI.
The game has taken a nose dive since April.
They really seem to not care about what their current playerbase wants.
They saw a direct correlation between the implementation of the Long Tom in FP and the decline of the playerbase.. and all they give us is bandaids.
The level of condescension in the April town hall and the implied, "we don't care what you want, we're doing this," attitude is a major turn off for a lot of people.

I have no grand delusion that my or for that matter, any number of conscientious objectors closed wallets will slam this e-sport idiocy into full reverse and fix anything that I really give two farts about...

if you keep doing barrel scrapings, nobody is going to want them. in order to bring in more iconic mechs you need to advance the timeline, and all that entails. in fact that in my opinion is the only way to keep the game alive. people will show up for new iconic mechs and new weapons and equipment. this "current tech only!" doctrine is hurting the game. it has pgi pushing a bunch of 3rd rate doa mechs that do nothing different and no one wants to buy them.
think about it the last mech to sell like hotcakes was the kodiak. for months you would get 6 bears in your lance. phoenix hawk, viper no you didnt see that. you saw them here and there. iconic mechs are where the money is at and those are in very short supply and cannot be relied upon for long term success.
new tech is another path of monetization that really should be explored. these would come out on the pay or wait/grind models, perhaps a supply cache prize or introduce new cheevos with new weapons as prizes. introduce a lot more build options. new armor types, new heat sink types, variations of weapons, etc. creating good builds should totally be the part of the game, so a lot more build complexity is good. when you have been around as long as i have you have built everything that can be built, be it stupid troll builds, top notch meta, boats, mixed builds or anything in between. its getting old.
so yea im not buying. introduce something different and i may consider buying it.

There is just no valid use for most of the mechs already released but still the business model is centered around more mechs with no focus on uses for most of what we already own.
