I'd go for ultimate package on the stinger wasp depending on how much of the robotech look was retained. Make it was small as a catapult or locust and xl 300 cap and it will be fine with just 4 med lasers. It would have to have a transformation mode or at least the keep the guardian mode.

Yeah, that's a great idea.

If you want HG to finish the job on PGI they started 8 years ago when they sued them over the MW5 trailer they put out back then over the Warhammer.

Alex and the art team are doing a fine job on the Unseen/Reseen/Classic mechs so far. Don't ruin what works.

Granted I prefer the looks of the CGL versions of the Warhammer and Marauder for instance, and most of the others. The exception being the Locust. I actually prefer the look of the PGI Locust over the CGL one.

I kind of wish they would. mwo might get better development as a comunity project like mw:ll. I happen to like the f-18 look of the old robotech. I'm sure alex can future it up with f-35 or stealth fighter-ish. Or just tack on some mustang wings. ww2 planes and jets look cool. Our cockpts already have plenty of star wars tie fighter/x-wing and ww2 inspirations in them most obliviously in the cyclops and atlas.

There is a WASP with 5 E hardpoints.. with a little inflation that would work out okay.

Personally if they are going to go whole hog and pull from the orginal look, I'd love it if they pulled from the V-0 Phoenix...

You want LOREmageddon?

Because LAMs are how you get LOREmageddon.

Srsly, mang. Srsly. This game has trouble handling ground-bound 'Mechs kicking it up over 150. And you want them to introduce fliers? Fliers considered a failed experiment in the lore, and an early bad-decision growing pain by FASA, rightfully abandoned?

N'thanks. We just got around Harmony Gold's demon-lawyer army, man. No need to kick the hornet's nest all over again for Veritechs in the wrong 'verse.

Some LAM's were failed experiments, Scorpion, Shadowhawk and Champion LAM's did fail. The Stinger, Wasp and Phoenix Hawk LAM's were all successful enough to be formed into special recon units as well as special operation units by the SLDF... see the Black Heart Squadron.

Topps/CGL/WizKids all brought LAM's back during Project Phoenix and the Jihad eras, so again not abandoned... they also went on to create QuadVee's as well...

Now I am not saying that they would be with out problems in MWO, they would be loaded with them... about the only way I can see them working is to keep them locked in Air-Mech mode, with a capped forward movement speed of 162km/h (15 hexes) before speed tweak, they would have to keep forward movement every few seconds to maintain that speed or drop down to 97km/h (running speed) for a few seconds before gainging enough lift to restart the WiGE movement again. Also a large turning ciricle while in WiGE movement as well... not to mention lack of cover, as they are always considered to be 6m above the ground while in WiGE movement.

Viable or not I will play them stock weapons with DHS, Endo and probably XL engine and as max armour as possible. These should have been added as part of a pack like "classics pack" which could have the Wasp, Stinger, Valkyrie and finish off the heavy selection with the Crusader and then round it out with the Ost pack.

So...seven-ish or so 'Mechs until the Sphere gets something even remotely useful?

I have a soft spot for the Valkyrie almost as big as my soft spot for the Bushwacker, but you guys can't keep asking for these old Unseen GarboMechs and then complain that GarboMechs are bad at MWO, y'know...

But I wouldn't complain. I genuinely want them in the game and would enjoy playing them. Honestly don't assume I would complain, I play my 'mechs stock weapons and enjoy the game way more than the frankenmech style the game emphasises.

I could see both of them coming with three variants each.
Each prime variant has the basic hardpoints (Stinger has 1 Energy and 2 Ballistic and the Wasp has 1 Energy and 1 Missile) with different variants offering different hardpoints.

Want an all Energy Wasp? Get the WSP-1D! It offers 3 Energy hardpoints instead of just the one! Could Wub-Wub all day.
Could introduce the Royal version of the Stinger and get 4 Energy Hardpoints as well!

Or something like that.
