That said, I enjoyed the amount of teamwork I was seeing. I'm not sure if it's because of the Event or not but there were a lot more folks taking charge and coordinating and whatnot. Lovin' this game.

I have known being part of the latter situation too many times. Everyone else fails, even while I'm trying to do my part right, and then I get left with at least 5 to 8 angry Mechs all breathing down my throat, if it doesn't turn out to be a lame '12-on-1 Execution' where the team still fully standing has no honor whatsoever.

My reward? A single Supply Cache key and consumables. Now I have even more Cool Shot 6 I will never use.
Yeah, never again.

Take for example, there's a player and you can all go figure this out yourselves, top five on the commando, spider, firestarter and kit fox. According to the season 1 leaderboard so far, only played 62 games since Aug 1st and won 49 of them, with more than a 2.5 K/D ratio per game. Leads a mercenary faction unit with only 8 members and has a very high w/l and k/d ratio in FW, and that is team captain of same unit in world championships.
I played the kit fox almost exclusively, only got to 26th, and played 88 games in the past 3 days of season 1, winning just over half of them and a couple hundred in the last four days of season 0.

Position #7 in Urbie after 189 horrendous solo pug drops, my reward is not much better than yours .

Nope. All gifted premium time starts as soon as it is injected, so if you are expecting any don't log in until you intend to play.

Actually that was predicted early in the thread before the event actually began. Its not hard to understand why if you look at the scoring system and the results that happen on the leaderboard. The event doesn't care about damage, just kills, and most importantly, solo kills with the most damage dealt. If you walk up behind a jenner and pop its CT using two LPLs for a mere 22 damage... that's going to score you 61 points, do that five times in the match, survive and win and you're over 300 points. Now multiply that by ten and you get how people put up 3000+ scores on the leaderboard. The odds of managing ten such perfect games on ONE chassis is astronomically high, but to do it multiple mech models... in a week... and to do so playing so few total games...just screams organised cheating.

Hopelessly unreliable. Maybe one time, years ago they did something about the reports, but I doubt they do anything today. Even when you report to support directly with emailed video files and screen captures, you only get a form letter reply and the reported people still appear in games. It would be nice if besides the leaderboard info already presented, you could lookup other players stats to see how many games they put in on a chassis in the past 30 days. Of course they won't do that, because then it'd be so bloody obvious as to who is cheating when they do 20 matches only and have ten perfect games.... and yet they're still rewarded with MC and Cbills....

My absolutely best match in that LCT-1V was yielding a classical match score of 598, which I deemed pretty good. In fact, AFAIR, it is my 3rd-best LCT-1V-match ever. Addtional stats from that match: 880 DMG, 0 Team DMG, 2 Kills, 10 Assists, 1 Solo, 3 KMDD. We won, I survived. That should be all that matters for event-scoring.
- If my calculation is correct, that's 289 Event-Score.
- I would need 10 matches of that sort to get to 2890 Event-Total
- That would place on place 14 of the LCT leaderboard.
Let that sink in - 10 of my absolutely best matches (and it was no crappy match, see above) and I would finish 14th.
But for the Top 5, I would need more. 3129 Event-Score - for the top-spot a mere 3650 points (or 365 points in 10 matches).
How could I get these numbers?
Clearly, winning and surviving cannot be bested, so I need to look elsewhere.
I was involved in all kills of the team, so just landing killing blows would not give anything, since every additional kill would cost me one assist - both are worth 10 points.
That leaves DMG, Solo-Kills and KMDD.
Let's try DMG first.
Without DMG, my score would have been 230, missing 135 towards the needed golden match for the top-spot. DMG/15 is scored, so I would need 135 × 15 = 2025 DMG, with the other stats staying the same. Sounds easy, doesn't it? In all my 7000+ games, I have never seen anyone break 2000 DMG, not even in assaults. I'm pretty sure it has happened, but it must be a rare thing.
What could work... now Solos and KMDD seem pretty lucrative. Combined, they'd give 50 points per Solo-KMDD. But wait! I already got 3 KMDD. So, let's say, those were Solo Kills as well, that would net me an additional 2× 30 = 60 points (1 I had already) and shifting my stats to:
4 Kills, 8 Assists, 3 Solo, 3 KMDD, 880 DMG, Win, Survive: 349
Damn, still to few to get one of those golden matches. 1120 DMG would fix that. Or another KMDD.
Which means I would have to find 3 enemy mechs all by themselves (because otherwise it is even more unlikely, that I with my Locust would do most Damage to them, when others are around. Preferrably heavies or assaults, so I can crank up my damage numbers.
And of course, I would have to do that 10 times over the course of the event.
Easy, just: get gud & join a unit.
edit:
Fun fact: These are the average quickplay match scores for Light mechs from the Locust Leaderboard Winner
Season 1: 336 in 100 games played
Season 2: 284 in 130 games played.
2nd place: 332 and 307 in 43 and 114 games respectively. Very good players, indeed, my stats are way way lower. The stats from #3-spot though are considerably higher than those two. And him (#3) i have seen in plenty of quickplay matches as the only one of these.

I don't want you seeing all my 100dmg games in my kit fox!
I had a fun time, even with all the skillcrows and stuff, in my kitfox. Got higher than expected on the leaderboard too.

Can't pretend I had fun but at least I levelled my adders from scratch to almost all mastered out. I also had my longest ever losing streak of course at one point which made it very grim.
