There is a good way to monetize the game besides selling mechs, colors, camos and so on.
Ruining your mech shouldn't be free! Or rather, it shouldn't be free if you're a Bad.
Let's say that it would cost 25 MC to repair a mech after being destroyed (hold on!), but in every match the six best players in each team get 25 MC.
Like what you hear? Players that are good would build up a bank of MC so they could repair for free, while the bads would not, so they would have to get some MC for repairs.
Of course this could feel a bit harsh, making the Bads pay.
So I also propose that all players initially get 250 MC so that they can have a small buffer to start with, that way they will have a few matches until they will have to pay for repair.
That's it really, get the Bads to pay for the game, you know that's what you want!

I think this would just eliminate new players as they would run out of their "free" 10 repairs and then bail.....

Did you just suggest an R&R system that uses real money?

If so, good luck with that! People around here already hate c-bill based R&R. Your suggestion goes well beyond that.

I'd be heavily against this. Basically any new player coming in would end up being forced to spend real money on MC because they're not yet accustomed to how to build/pilot a mech effectively? Tihs game has a pretty steep learning curve as it is, adding the requirement to pay while you're learning sounds horrible.

R&R was actually in the game back in the early days, and it would cost you cbills.

EDIT: Looks like I got ninja'd

So, theoretically speaking, people would get handed losing streaks by MM (Which happens often), or die leading a necessary push and score poorly yet contribute critically to the game and... be screwed after a few games... Nope.

How to monetize the game.
You could.
1)add slots for $
2)sell mechs and premium variants of those
3)sell premium time
4)make some bundles with multiple mechs

Oh wait...

Also op, you realise that at that point game would cease to be f2p.

Well, who would be left? A small group of good players, picking off only the few newbies willing to try the game (and then bail)...

Seriously, what is the with the arrogance of some players who think that a worthless skillset - being good at a random video game - gives them the right to try to exclude others?

"Bad players shouldn't be allowed to have fun" is their arrogant claim, and they are full of it.

Nobody cares how good you are at a video game; most people play it to have fun, nothing more, and for any sane business the money of a "bad" is just as green as the money of some stuck-up tryhard. By the way, we already have a game mode tailored for try-hards who don't won't "scummy casuals and bads" in their game. It's called Faction Play, and it is a ghost town. Why, it's almost as if most players are just here to have fun vs. polish their egos - what a shock!

Next up, the OP explains why only people with culinary experience should be allowed to eat food without a special "bad" tax on people without cooking skills. Posted Image

You do realize that at one time YOU were a bad, right?

Also, you're only Tier 2 - which means in the eyes of some, you are STILL a bad who shouldn't be playing. Posted Image

It is, but the OP can't hear that over the sound of his ego.

The arrogance is amazing, really. So many try-hards who have mastered the utterly worthless skill of piloting a pixel robot in a video game but have zero understanding of useful things, such as how to run a successful business. HINT: It doesn't involve scaring away or punishing the majority of your customers to soothe the rampaging egos of a tiny minority.

Truth be told, I'm more irritated by all those parasitic "snipers" who expect someone else to go into the thick of the fight while they themselves farm for points and rewards. T1 or T2, as far as I am concerned they're still parasites who earned their progress bar by hiding from the enemy.

You want to make money from this game?
Give me Solo Mode PvE- Campaign or One-Off Missions.

Then watch me Whale It Up like nobody's business.
