Must say, as much as I disliked a lot of later developments, the 3d Ed was probably the best of the box sets.... at least it had Plas-Tech Minis, lol. Had all the box sets, but tbh, preferred the Rules of Warfare, Map Packs, etc.

I do miss being able to mount JJs in the arms, though. (and the OLD original house books... so much better than the later editions)

No, I stand by the statement. Cent is one of the few mechs I intentionally attempt to headshot. The frame around the cockpit window is a wonderful thing to line up a crosshair with, given the actual head hitbox is in the very center of it. I've intentionally blown out CN9 cockpits with extreme shots before. Granted, if the CN9 is trying to be evasive it is, like all mechs, a lot harder to manage it. However, the very moment a CN9 stops and stares, my crosshairs center on the meat instead of the metal.


Probably my highest headshot kill count chassis, actually. Second being a toss up between the old Catapult and AS7. Real old example, here, but AFAIK they have not rescaled its cockpit.

Why are people concerned about head hitbox so much? When was the last time you were head shot? Was it when you were shutdown/afk?
I say bring it on, that rare gauss hitting your head is basicaly 1 shot that didnt hit your torso, and if you do get hit you will make damn sure not to get hit again on the same match.

The cockpit modeler was streaming his work on the cyclops. It is definitely the eye.

Seeing that wide view cockpit makes me super happy. Feel the Cyclops will likely be a middle of the ground Assault, it won't be super awesome meta changer (that would be the Devastator) for the IS assault meta. Nah, it will be a fun side grade to the Mauler that can go faster and is less able to boat ballistics, outside the hero. Oh it feels like sitting in the nose turret of the B-17 with that cockpit design for the Cyclops.
