The game is about a little more than just kills...
Of all gamemodes.... why do you think Conquest or Domination would be ideal for a kill counter???
The only gamemode that needs a kill counter is Skirmish. Its a deathmatch time gamemode.

Well, assuming him to be a noob because he don’t want the counter is a mistake, because I don’t want it either and I’m T1.
Yes, the counter is nice because you know how many enemies are left on the battlefield. But this is information good only for T5 noobs. Not having kill counters at all is the real **** for T1 people. And the TAB view should not show kills or deaths either, who dies should not be in the chat.
That’s right, you should not have any indications on how many enemies the team have killed besides manual counts. This would open the need for better communications, and give some uncertainty to the battlefield.
Let’s say one team have two and one team have four mechs left. Today, the four mech team can usually just stomp the last two unless they go in with no armor or weapons what so ever, and no rules without exceptions, but this is what usually happens. However, after an intense fight, the remaining four mechs would perhaps not be that cocky in their approach if they were not 100% certain they have double the number of active mechs. This could give the remaining two on the other team some better odds.

I am wondering about the same senseless reason why there are no Kill Counts shown, but you can still see them when you show up the Score board/TAB...
gives absolutely no sense. Either there should have been no Kill Counter at all or it should be automaticaly displayed.
Also all those that voted on this, check out the other-similar topic to this one, with more ... tbh. better vote options. You might be interested on that other topic as well, since the way it is nowadays, it gives zero sense.

Please don't ad-hominem. We are aware that you want a kill counter, you don't need to attack those who feel differently.
My opinion:
I'd prefer the removal of the kill counter in Assault. Skirmish is the only mode I feel a kill counter should be needed. This would require changes to those game modes to make the objectives... relevant.
Assault: make the mode about capping the enemy base. Give the teams a reason to care about capping and splitting into a defensive/offensive force instead of death ball skirmishing some more. I hope that the proper Assault mode that is WIP will come with this kind of change.
Escort: Give a progress indicator so people can see at a glance how far the VIP is from extraction. Keep the VIP health indicators
Conquest: HUD is fine as-is, I really like this mode because it's the only mode (possibly excluding Escort, it's too soon to tell at the time of my posting) that isn't Skirmish-in-disguise.
Domination: Not too sure what to do with this mode.
On one hand, I'd like to see changes to try and force everyone to stay in the circle, force a brawl, and the team that pushes the other team out of the circle wins. Kinda like a big reverse tug-of-war.
On the other hand, any method I can think of for attempting this would end in failure, and I'm not sure it's a good idea to try and force a brawl play style. Lots of people prefer to engage at a certain range, and trying to get them to close that range would probably only hurt their team.
Skirmish: As it is, Domination and Assault are already this game mode. I've had games of Conquest and Escort be this game mode as well. Without changing the other game modes, this is completely redundant and can be removed (please don't, though. I'd much rather change the other modes to be more unique).
