See ya in a battlefield. And good luck.

If I may ask, how did y'all test it?
(been sort of mystery, some say head first, some head last, some arms first, some torso first, though consistenly Legs are top 3 last ones)

If your head is stripped of armor and you are taking damage there, you will die before the ammo explodes anyway (probably).

I always put ammo into my head precisely because it's the safest place for it since it will draw from legs before head.

edit: adjusted since OP changed document and did the hard work finding the post from PGI on it! I kept the reasoning in.

well back in beta the cockpit monitors actually did more than just a pretty disco light show to go with your ipod playlist.. there was a heatsink monitor and an ammunition storage display....

they simply used the cockpit monitor to track ammo usage while they fired off a weapon..

I testet the head ammo question like this:

-take a CN9-YLW (my choice, there are many other mechs viable for this)
-put AC20 in RA
-put 0.5t ammo in H
-put 0.5t ammo in LA
-go in private lobby with a second player (me and him with premium time)
-shoot 3 times (0,5t AC20 ammo is 3 shots)
-let him destroy your LA

You will see that you still have 3 shots left.
If the ammo in H had been used 1st, then you would be out of ammo.

You can use a similar principle to test other components and their orders (sometimes STD engine is needed).
To be sure clans are not different i took a NVA (LB20X) for same test.
