So I checked my eligibility, and it says I'm not eligible for the top-tier IS reward, but I definitely own both the Resistance 1 pack and Resistance 2 pack. I also own the collectors pack for the Marauder and Warhammer (plus the heroes, even). How do I not qualify???

Do you buy them within the last year?

As keeps being asked/answered/repeated.... PURCHASE DATES is what matters, not ownership. You have to have purchased them between Oct 6, 2015 and Oct 6, 2016.

As the Steam Performance Packs will NOT count next year, it is NOT a discussion for next year.

Since the packs do not count for next year, they absolutely should count for the Clan & Inner Sphere rewards this year!

do you really believe that BS or do you simply keep repeating it because you expect PGI will believe it ?

I have no idea of the purchase dates, but I can almost guarantee the Marauder and Warhammer were within the time frame. Sketchy on the Resistance packs. Is there a place where we can actually see the purchase dates, or am I stuck digging through my Paypal history?

Unfortunately, the best way would be to check your own financial records or see if you have the acknowledgement emails from those purchases. For this reason, it would be *really* nice if, along with the info on what packs we've bought (see the Preorders page under your profile) if they'd show *when* components of the packs were purchased.

They email you receipts when you buy something, to whatever email account is registered to your mwo account. Start a folder to sort them all into.

I bought my kid a ebon jag Ala carte package. That's more than the price of a collectors edition new mech package. So why doesn't that count towards the mechs?

Because it's not part of the promotion.

Sometimes you have to buy a particular thing to get a free thing with it, as is with most sales and promotions.

Exactly...i've seen more than one member explain it thusly...

When a supermarket offers a reward for buying $10 of coca-cola products... you don't get the same reward because you decided to buy $20 of pepsi products instead.

More importantly, and I apologize if this has been asked and answered, does that mood ring camo on the reward Cataphract change color in game?

While i get your analogy and i also agree that pgi can run it however they want, I think the major contention is that there was no clear indication what the requirements would be so it feels arbitrary and exclusive to some.

By your analogy the person that bought $20 of pepsi had the promo announced after they made their purchase and is unable change their purchase in order to qualify. Again, that is entirely there store's prerogative, but at the same time, how much will the customer want to keep shopping there?

560+ posts in and people are still complaining or do not understand the gist of the rules for eligibility ... I am simply awestruck.

Neither was there one last year for last year's loyalty awards prior to their announcing what the requirements would be.

Well that depends if the customer is an entitlement syndrome sufferer or not.

It absolutely is BS and while I am not partial to believing anything IGPGI says aside from it was their position at the time, from the fine print their position is currently that the Steam Bundles will not count at all next year due to how they track Steam purchases. Yet interestingly no such limitation applies to Steam MC.

Obviously that is typical PGIGP sheer laziness and should be fixed, but even baring that unlikely development, the Performance Packs undoubtedly ought to count for Clan & IS mechs rewards by virtue of their included mechs.

No but to compare last year's Loyalty rewards to this years is a bit of comparing apples to oranges because the purchase options are now very different.

Last year to get the "ultimate" loyalty rewards equated to getting simply the highest tier in the Clan waves or Resistance packages, so there was a bit more of a logical acceptance that "If I didn't pay for the top tier, I didn't get the Loyalty mechs". With the new mech packs there is no clear "tier" path so you can't really say "If I didn't pay for the top tier, I won't get the Loyalty mechs", if fact, they would have saved themselves a lot of the uproar had they simply stated that to qualify, one must have purchased the Base + Hero + Collectors (not all had reinforcements so... dunno 'bout that) because at least that has a bit more of a "package completed" feel than what was decided... Which I will reiterate is entirely their right, they can be as arbitrary about how players win loyalty mechs as they want.

So I am not here trying to argue for entitlement, I am trying to do something incredibly stupid and try to apply reason and logic to a topic that clearly has people riled up.

If you are pissed about how they handled it this year, demonstrate it by closing your wallet, don't whine, beg and debase yourselves. This is all free stuff, they owe none of us any of it.

My advice is that in the future, if you can restrain yourself, buy only enough to qualify for Early Adopter rewards, then wait till August to find out how to fill iin the blanks to qualify for swag.

Entitled? Possibly.

Feeling marginalized due to not guessing correctly on which upgrades to spend their hard earned cash? Definitely.

Again, in the past players were rewarded for getting top tier, now you don't need to get them all, you just needed to get the *right* ones. Is it worth the weeping, wailing, and gnashing of teeth? No.

Is it worth a hearty WTF? Yes.

And WHAT if they only count ULTIMATE packages as TOP TIER packageas in the next year ?

Did you notice that you cant upgrade to a ULTIMATE package, which they introduced with the PHX ultimate package ?

Thats because the ultimate just duplicates the individual package steps together as one purchase.

That would be an interesting "test"... say the did require players to have bought the Ultimate pack(s)... This would mean they aren't just doing the loyalty rewards as an end-of-year cash grab because so many players wouldn't be able to qualify...

Another D8 failure: It quite clearly says Ultimate PACK Posted Image

Next you will tell us that the Collector Pack just bundles the Standard Pack with the Special mech Posted Image
