Hey PGI, what are you working on to improve the connection time delay between matches? Can we expect an drop in this time in the Cyclops update? Let us know when to expect this important game experience improving adjustment!

I know, right? Understanding things are a balancing act, I think they went to far towards mech saving time (which we all do uncommonly) vs loading the mechbay (which we all do after EVERY MATCH). I think it's reasonable to check-in for an update on where they are on improving our in-game experience. You think disagree?

They really can't do some background loading?

After the match you see you're stats it could already start to load in the background what it needs when getting back into the mechlab

Aside from that I'm not sure it needs to load everything every time again when it has not been touched in any way

Tsk
They really do one step forward two steps back

Well essentially the mechbbay is about "nothing". So when "loading" nothing takes, from a slower computer, something like 30 seconds, I haven't timed but it's reaaaaally long time, then you obviously know that is just whatever it's doing it's completely wrong.

It seems like it is loading a whole/full 3D engine which could house a fight. Just to display those 2D menus and one, repeat, one 3D object, which you can turn around or change.

For me it takes about the same time to start Fallout 4, and load a savegame, than it takes from MWO to return from battle to mechbay. So it's not that it could be "optimized". It's doing horrible amount of nothing.

More likely it's loading everything in the inventory, every time
which is where the long saving times originally came from
Which also happens only to people with a lot of stuff

I did notice a slight improvement, maybe 15% or so. Still needs work.

15% improvement here is like 100% improvement with most other game companies.
