IT'S ALL OGRE NOW!

(I do think "The Beholder" or "Evil eye" would've fit much better)

At least the badge looks cool, though sth. more subtle would suit it more I think. Like the collector's badge ... :)

Ya know, I think those ballistic hardpoints are a little high. Can we bring them down lower to Hip Level? Or maybe Upper-Thigh?

Hehehe... no, it's nice to see that particular design error of the Atlas not faithfully replicated in the Cyclops :-p

I'm sorry but on that picture it looks like it's taking a dump. On steroids.

Looking good, the good stuff (scale comparison, quirks, etc.) always comes later in the countdown but I like what I see so far. I'm holding off on the Mauler c-bill sale so I can pick up the Cyclops down the road. I was always more of a corner peeker than a hill humper anyway :)

Sadly, I've not had the resources to get my Cyclops. Hopefully, in the near future, it will grace my MechBay, and then I'll kick some rear-ends with it. :)

It has 2 Ballistics on either side... put MGs below your Gauss and problem solved :P

I've studied the mech variants quite a bit. This mech is going to greatly depend on quirks. If you slow it down too much you have a Mauler. A Mauler has similar hardpoints as well. So unless the Cyclops has better ballistic/missile quirks you might as well use a Mauler. This is clearly a support mech. Not a brawler like most other assaults are in this game. With the battle computer it really needs to support missile boats.

To maintain it's 360 engine with full armor and endo-steel it will have only have 27 tons to work with. If there is any assault mech that could use an XL I think it's the Cyclops. Especially if you have a support configuration and not a brawler. The Sleipnir is going to need to maintain it's XL engine. If you slow it down it'll just be a Mauler...unless it has better ballistic quirks.

I think the best variant to support missile boats is the 11-P. Mainly due to it's ECM but also the battle computer. Put a seismic on it and maybe a beagle and lights will have a hard time sneaking up on you. I came up with a loadout that might be viable. 4 medium pulse, 1 LB-10X, 2 SRM-4's. ECM/seismic. Not over-whelming firepower but enough to keep a light mech or two on it's toes.

Let me know what you guys think. These are just my thoughts. I might be completely wrong and it'll be a good brawler but I don't think that's what it was originally designed to be.

One of the key points is to buff your team with an improved minimap. This vastly depends on the ability of your teammates to make use of the information provided by the minimap. Depending on your teammates and map or the specific way the battle went so far, this can be immensely useful or absolutely useless.
So, usually you want to bring this with a premade group, BUT a premadegroup, given the playstyle good ones apply and the fact that they learned to communicate via voicechat, they won't need it. And rather bring a mech with raw firepower.

Another drawback is, that you won't benefit from this quirk in terms of cbills/XP. One COULD argue that you increase the chances of a win and therefore get more hard value out of it.
On the other hand: you depend on your teammates to be useful. And with superior firepower/durability you can generate sufficient funds even whilst losing.
