I don't think making old mech obsolete promotes buying of new rides.

I feel its more likely to cause people to stop buying, out of sheer bloody mindedness, as in you make my dream mech useless i'm not buying to power creep crap until you make it decent again.

Sure it does. I know and play with lots of people that chase meta. I used to chase meta, then I saw the cycle: milk, nerf, sell, milk. People used to drop mad dosh on mechs after quirk passes and I'm sure they still do.

There are essentially two types of people that buy mechs: the ones that get them for the memories attached (yourself) and those that buy the mechs that they see potential in being extremely strong (likely the bulk of the purchasing players).

Yes give the Victor big agility quirks and big armor quirks to make up for its hard points. Also some heat gen quirks etc would be nice. A huge amount of people have Victors lets make them viable again.

This is intelligent and would make this mech fun but does nothing to sell Pokemechs and wont happen IMO.

That won't happen... though it would require a huge bribe.

Which is why i decided to back HBS, though im sure PGI is still getting some of that money because they are using their art which pains me to give any more money to these fools But HBS seems to have their s*%t together way more the PGI.

I fear that it can't get enough air time to even properly do that. RIP

Perhaps one day, someone on the dev team will go on a nostalgia trip and stumble upon that cold and dark hangar that once brought joy to owners, and consider, if only for a moment- what would JJ Jesus do?

The Victor :(
I love the design but large alphas eat it alive. The side torsos are yuuuuge and using std engines makes it too slow.
Currently I play it like an oversized centurion.

They over-nerfed it and blamed the Victor for the 3PV pop-tarting, which PGI considered an exploit or non Canon. They also had to nerf jump-jets because of adding 3PV, something PGI insisted would never happen. Oh well, you can't say we didn't warn them.

So yes, the Victor needs some armor and mobility buffs, but the Victor was designed to carry 2xPPCs and a Gauss Rifle with no charge-up so it can fire all three at once. It lacks the hardpoints to compete any other way with the Kodiaks and Dires.

...

That's not true. It has been buffed one or two times recently (that means starting from last year) as far as I can remember.

It was. They were complaining about that 30pt alpha. See how much power creep we've had!

I played the Victor quite a bit the past week. I now have the three normal variants and one thing for sure, they have a large CT. That could be the first thing PGI can do (reduce the size of the CT hitbox). The second thing maybe is to increase its ability to move. It seems sluggish. Give it more acceleration and a quicker TT.

Weapons wise, the Victor can make use of major quirks for weapons that it can only mount 1 of. On 1 variant, it has a +25% range on ballistics, add in a range mod for the AC20 and you can reach out there a bit. Not a big gig. Other variants could make use of more quirks for single weapons.

Instead of giving it a "laser quirk", give it a major quirk for a specific weapon. Give it a -30% cool down for gauss. Give it a -25% cool down for the SRM 4. Etc. The Victor could be better without a doubt.

Start with the CT, then tweak the quirks by giving it major upgrades to specific weapons.

Same here, pick up 2 victor and the DS from the sales.
They feels like walking CT, often had my CT cored before my ST are breach.
Even when I am used to running the other 80ton walking CT barn house Awesome, the Victor feels worst.

I have given up twisting and install a big XL engine to play brawling, and still manage to get more CT death than XL death.

With the Victor you need to turso twist like there's no tomorrow. The mech just doesn't have enough armor and structure to stare someone down.

Has anyone mentioned the 10 degree arm twist limit? Arm mounted weapons is very important when you want to respond to a hit and run attack from a light mech.
But 10 degree won't do much.

And there's the rub of why the Victor/Highlander is bad among the assaults. Not enough range to make wa swipe attack when you can just ahead and play a Stalker/King Crab with no arm movements. Its bad enough when the Zeus can do better in a brawl.

Yeah idk. He starts off as a young napoleon with the height motif and everything. Victor is a pretty good strategist, almost unbeatable in a campaign. Probably could use a nerf. But I think his politics needs a boost in compensation.

Victor Davions first mech was a Victor he used in battle. Can you imagine how dead he would have been if it handled anything like our MWO version? Lol
