It's gon be the Scorpion.

Just... Just watch it happen. Come on. Please. Damn it.

The return of IK makes this twice as possible as it was before. So about 0.01% possibility in total.

I think the closest you'll get to it being a Scorpion is a decal...

So, the next Mech is an IS Mech and we're going to like it. What's it going to be?

My guess: Rakshasa. Not a ton of variants, but PGI can fill it in.

Bushwacker with 4 original PGI variants, probably.

There may come a time when PGI adds more light mechs to the game... but it is not this day!

If it's not a Flea, Raptor, or Nightstar, I will not care.

If it's humanoid in shape, it can go f*ck itself with a cactus.

This proves Russ's statement is flawed, because if its a chicken walker it can also do what your suggesting, but after using Bengay cream first

So lets see "an IS mech you will like". I think it's save to say as the Kodiak has shown that

a, people like 100 ton mechs.
b, people like mechs they know from MW 2-4 and/or MC 1-2

Annihilator from MW 3 or Fafnir from MW: Mercs could trigger a Kodiak like hype once again.
When it comes to smaller Mechs, the Hollander would be somewhat recognizable, but Im not sure that it would get the hype train going at Kodiak levels. Another medium that people would love to see would certainly be the Uziel as this was your MW 4: Vengeance standard mech.

Given the obvious success with the Kodiak pack, I'd say the most likely is either the Annihilator or the Marauder II, both 100t.
Both also have several timeline-variants available:

ANH-1A; ANH-1E; ANH-1G; ANH-1X; ANH-2A.

MAD-4A; MAD-5A; MAD-5B; MAD-5C (would be real nice to also have the 6M (and not for just the ECM), but it uses X-Pulse so that's a big no-no).

Hardpoint-wise, there wouldn't be much of a difference between them, but that wouldn't probably hurt sales too much. It would also be worthy of a laugh if the variants C and/or C2 of the Annihilator were part of the packs, using IS mechs in FP with Clan tech. Bushwacker would be cool too, for nostalgia. Posted Image

Well we know it's something Russ thinks will make us happy...

But well we all know that's like this:

Still if I had to guess, on something that has a shot at making the community happy...

Bushwacker (more or less a 5t heavier Centurion)
Uziel (Why? This mech is called out as being mediocre in the lore....)
Crusader
Stinger/Wasp
Flea (Why? this thing is a worse Locust...)

We are due for another Light, if anything.

20 dollars for a light? Ewwwww.

I'm starting to sound like a nagging housewife, BUT:

Wargaming has a sliding scale based on the tier of a ship for WoW. A tier 3 ship costs far less than a tier 9.

PGI y u no sliding scale based on weight?

Bushwacker would balance the scouting matches for FW. (Que the clanners claiming the Griffin is the Stormcrows equal).

Beacuse that would require them to actually understand their own game and the players of that game... as it stands, Russ only sees:

You all should feel ashamed for not supporting a group of people that constantly disappoints you, or something. Like, force yourselves to be optimistic or go away. You're a bunch of bad people for not blindly accepting your fate.

Or something like that. Whatever.

There are two ways to offset the value.

1. Duel pack (Wasp & Stinger?) Simply put two lights in one pack

2. Add more variants than what normally goes into a heavier class's pack. (Javelin has tons of variants) maybe 6 or 7 non hero variants instead of the current 5.

Otherwise a light is a hard sell.

If we're talking about 100t jumping competitors for the Kodiak I'd suggest the Pillager. (It's also super sexy looking) http://www.sarna.net/wiki/Pillager

It's not 100 tons but the 95 ton Nightstar would be an exceedingly good counter to the incoming Clans. (The link in my Sig)

I want to like what HBS is doing.
But at the same time, I'm scared of anything PGI touches - even peripherally.

I'll wait till it's released before I'm excited about that game (though the video did look pretty good).
As for the new PGI IS mech, I still think it'll be a 30T light of some sort.

This game will never be an E-Sport. It's too long in the tooth, and isn't remotely entertaining to watch. Just look at the latest attempt at it. One round and the same map for every match...
