Yes - it was meant to give another option. The chair route is intriguing, though... Any links to 'fancy confangled chairs' for those of us who can't make stuff?

NO!!! You used the "C" word!!! You can make whatever you want to, I think a better word is "don't" :D

The setup I will be using is a Microsoft Strategic Commander and logitech G5 mouse, and am thinking of mounting to my chair as well so I can relax, kick back and fire at will...I use a toshiba 43" HDTV as my monitor, so I don't like to be hunched over a keyboardPosted Image

If i chair mount idea doesnt work out I'm just going to go to an apirland graveyar and cut off the nose end of a boeing 737 and used its cockpit as my simulator.

Day 1 of Project Chair MKII

Beer=check
Power Tools=check
Building material=check
Beer=Check
Map of quickest rout to the ER=Check

Here we GO!

I got the "brackets" built, but turns out the original arms help up the back of the chair. Will have to come up with an idea for that, but thats tomorrows task. I will have an update tomorrow night, hopefully I will be done with the structural side of things and just be able to work on cosmetics.

You know what, I need to do something like this with my chair as well. Except mine has no armrests to begin with. T'would also give me an easier means of having a comfy place to secure a joystick when I get one.

Hey, it was all i had left to drink and apparently in this country its frowned upon to drink and drive to get more to drink.

Day Two,

Much more productive without beer. Got the think build for the most part and it feel sturdier that with the stock arms. All I have to do now is mount the joystick and throttle and possible grind down the edges. Thanks all for the help and for following along.
