Two things
1. I think it was intentional otherwise why would you have this graphic?

Posted Image
2. Why the F not?

Yeah exactly, premeditated like I said.

It was always the intention, to try sell more deck bays... Just a total disconnect with playerbase, what makes the game good etc.

No wonder nothing has been slated about Long Tom being fixed/altered after a month, it's just a display of outright contempt. The conversation didn't go the way the King wanted, so he's chucked a tanty.

I used to roll my eyes at people bashing PGI, yet after a bad Phase 3 and a dozen botched patches with 'features'... I've now been driven to the dark side.

Make a hotfix for editable DropDecks or the blood of CW/FP is on your hands.

Don't think there is enough blood to squeeze out at this point.

FW=Turnip.

One month to fix a problem that never should have existed in the first place.... Are the programmers monkeys/********/bafoons or something? It shouldn't take a bloody month.

Ok, there is a workaround.
Ok, they're fixing it.
Ok, I play FP very little and usually I use always the same dropdeck so I am not touched by this oversight "new feature",
BUT
ONE month? Really? Couldn't they postpone the today hot-fix to include also this change?

I do not know, they seems not to care about Faction Warfare / FW players...

Just tweeted russ to the effect that Sept 20 is bullshot. I'm becoming increasingly convinced that PGI just wants FW to die. They just don't get it.

The thing is IF the were looking to dust off CW and finally shut it down:

1. There is not a damn thing we could do about it :(

2. I wish they would just state that they have came to the decision that CW/FW/FP is no longer a viable business concern for them and they have chosen to invest their resources in X/Y/Z of the game instead. Then us FP players that still care could stop burning mental and emotional energy trying to think of ways to improve what we have.

Can someone from PGI please give me a glimmer of hope or simply put me out of my misery?

Let's see if he kicks you from the twitter account he uses. Last time I posted something I felt was valid about the game and worded in a respectfull manner, I was kicked from his feed.

To me this looks like a "feature" (multiple, non-editable drop-decks) that was at least initially drawn up to replace the old system of a single, editable drop-deck.

If I am feeling generous I can give PGI the benefit of the doubt (since they announced so imediately that they will fix it... Instead of letting it run a while) that they had relented on this somewhere along the way and perhaps the making the drop decks non-editable wasn't supposed to be in the final, released patch. But I can't see a way that making non-editable decks wasn't at least part of the initial intent of this change in the drop-deck system.

Truthfully, I don't blame a FTP game company for finding ways to add charges. If you enjoy the game, spend some money on it and keep PGI in business... Fair enough... Just adjusting an existing feature of the game (saying you are responding to player feedback) to make players purchase things to basically restore the functionality of what you had before would be shady.

So I guess the player base has to decide if what PGI did here was shady or just incompetent. I am willing to go with the lesser charge and just write it off as a mistake in the final product. However, neither option makes PGI look good or inspires confidence.

I was respectful in my tweet, and I've given him and PGI credit when credit was due. I feel as though I'm being fair in holding him/pgi to task on pointing out this change significantly hurts FW. I'm not a blind fanboi, and not a saltwarrior, I'm just calling it like I see it. Fixed on Sept 20th is simply not acceptable, and they need to push out a hotfix much sooner than that because this is hurting FW populations.

And I was ready and willing to throw down 2400 of my current 2532 mc to buy the two extra dropdecks on day 1, but that was assuming that I could edit them in lobby.

Better yet, we can stop burning cash for this game.
Not spending another dime on this game till there is a viable faction warfare.
I'm sure i'm not alone.

Editable Drop decks is an easier problem to solve than the mini map hot fix. The latter was released within days.

Russ is just testing to see if we forget about editable drop decks before the month is up,hoping we all spend money and buy more drop decks.

What is ridiculous is he implements this when wait times are at their worst, letting us sit there with even less to do while we pray other players join in for a game.

If they just focus on decreasing wait times and improving game play, people would buy mech packs just so they can have more variety in a game they have fun playing.

No one is going to buy a mech pack if no one is playing!!!

You're not alone.

After Phase 3, which really was a flop, my money is going elsewhere.

Fix it, I'll spend. Don't, I won't. Pretty simple.

Why you do this PGI?

What gets me is that the fixed DD is a good idea IF we knew where we were fighting before locking it down. It's akin to an elite special forces team getting loaded for a mission and not knowing where their going but being able to use their credit card to purchase extra webbing.

Sniper: OK Sarge, where are we going?

Sarge: Don't know son, better go with the x20 scope and a Beretta.

Sniper: Oh Kay, what about room clearance?

Sarge: No idea son, you can buy an extra weapon sling and bring a shotgun if you want?

Demo Specialist: So should I bring det cord or a TOW?

Sarge: No idea son, look I have no idea where we're going or if we're clearing a building or holding it. I can tell you we'll be in the plane for a while before we get there but untill we get there I know as much as you. Do you want to buy a magazine for the flight, only 10 bucks...

Sorry but I'm feeling a little depressed tonight Posted Image

Inherit gameplay problem with MWO that needs to be addressed sometime.... in the future?
