... That's 298. Ten of those games would give me 2980, enough for 2nd on that variant currently. Now to do that SIXTY times... in only a couple days of event running... well gee... color me suspicious.

Your mistake there is holding best players of the game to same standards as you hold yourself. Obviously best players are not bombarding ~300 point games. Their best games are at least over 400 points. Heck, even my best scores are usually over 400 points. Anyone with fast 3000 point score is not scoring 300 points times ten, or times 60 if they do it on all 6 chassis, their worst scores can be quite bad if their best scores are 400+ points.

Known best players in MWO doing that is nothing suspicious. Especially if they actually stream their games, you can then see yourself how they do it if you are interested. Totally unknown players doing that is suspicious. Good player on alt accounts molesting innocent tier 5's is something that should be taken seriously by PGI, but they don't seem to care.

Oh its clear they do not care just from S3B, the previously "anonymous" 3rd account to a Tier 1 player, farming away with tier 5s and 4s and now 3s.

Thanks for the event aka free stuff. On a positive note, for some reason the 'Clops challenge seemed not to instill the same amount of silliness into a majority of players as some of the other recent events. So, most of my ~10 games (can't say exactly due to delay in accounting) needed to complete the personal challenge in my Locust were of the rather enjoyable sort.

That said, owning the respective mechs or not, I am not seeing any point in participating in leaderboards as they are held right now. Too much room for farming, and "gaming the system". I won't deny that some of the top players rightfully deserve their place in the top 10, but there are enough that are never seen anywhere else, esp. not in solo queue, and that seem to have a suspiciously high percentage of extremely high scores. They might be legit, but there's just too much room for rigging the matches through group queue - i.e. assemble a couple of friends, drop in the dead hours of the APAC region on those servers and strip all 600 points of armor from 100-ton mechs without being disturbed.

I keep saying, just once... just once... run an event where solo results are separate from team results -or- solo only...

Lets see who persists to be on top...

I have done this entire event solo, i grouped once, but not in a 'clopz and after all the challenge swag was earned...

And separate tiers from the results.
So many "never seen in the game" guys on the top....

Not gonna totally jump on the conspiracy train here, but Dee Eight brought up an interesting point with scores. The score shown earlier is a great score, but imagine two teams in group queue with a mutual agreement. If two groups agreed to allow someone to farm them then it could be rigged. Outside communication is readily available through TS and other sources. It is totally possible to rig a game without arranging it in game.

Uh...welcome to COD 2009....they've been offline comm boosters for years.
Only good thing is there is a thriving YouTube group who are "Booster Hunters"....with cheezy accents and trance music...

Noob here....Tier 5 for life Posted Image

I wasn't going to get the Cyclops but several other players said they were a really fun mech to run. Ran the personal event stuff in my usual lights but by Sunday afternoon I broke down and got the basic Cyclops pack.

First, Mech is fun AF to run. You can run all kinds of builds (Splatpops). Holds it's on until the bigger Assaults show up. One of the best 'out of the box' I've played....but I'm new so.

Second, the "Smear the Cyclops" was discussed on teamchat. The cyclops guys were mostly "So?"......we even used it as a lure to (try) and win a match. I was the lure to pull a lot of the enemy mechs off station...at one point I had 4 chasing me. It almost worked too...but the Warhammers got us in the end.

Dumb NOOB question...but....what do you do with the swag from your alt accounts? Just sell the accounts for money? I mean what else is could you use it for?

Go back a page of comments for the link, but yes, there are e-commerce sites where folks can sell their accounts, which is a violation of mechwarrior onlines user agreement and Code of conduct, and PGI could easily investigate every time such a thing is offered, but they don't, most likely because they see these account buyers as people who might be new to the game, and already clearly potential new whales. Likewise they won't crack down on folks gaming the matchmaker & group farming by creating alt accounts because to join these new mech release leaderboards... they had to spend $$$ to have the mechs to participate.

Oh and btw, just because you watch a twitch stream at a certain point, and see a few bad games, doesn't mean that they weren't farming BEFORE their twitch went live, not to mention, to put up 400 score games...for the leaderboard formula...which is NOT match score btw, still requires targets to just roll over and be morons basically, and the likelihood of finding the needed morons every game, for 10 miracle games, or 60 miracle games, at Tier 1... is pretty damn high, like being struck by lightning twice on the same golf course high. Nor does previously catching cheaters mean they wouldn't ever do the same thing themselves. I've known many a paintball player who constantly tipped refs in games to wipers, actually were wiping themselves, or otherwise cheating other competitors in events where prizes were available. One particular pair for example, who actually told me to just "wipe" the paint off my lense (which clearly indicated a head hit), while I was in the dead box, were later ejected from that event I learned by violating the field-paint-only rule, when they shot one of the field owners with the WRONG color paint for the event that was running. They had mixed in paint that was the same brand (and thus the same exterior shell) from a previous event they already owned, with the new event paint they bought less of than they should have needed, but hadn't accounted for having a different fill color. Everyone that day was supposed to be shooting balls with yellow fill... so when the balls broke and there was pink and blue fills instead...well...pretty clear they'd cheated, and in front of all to see.

I've said it before, but if you're going to farm all 6 leaderboards for a new mech, that's $60 spent on new mechs to earn up to 6,000MC, 30M C-bills and some other junk. Unless you're prtn, you're likely not getting anywhere near that much. Running an alt account just for the leaderboard farming doesn't make sense if you can't transfer the rewards to your main. And if you're that good, your alt account won't stay at low tiers without you wasting a lot of time throwing matches.

I think putting a bounty on the shiny new toys of paying customers is bad style and might have been funny in an environment that works and has a satisfied playerbase.

Can I echo this? Making it a reward to shoot down a brand new mech while the player within is trying to grind up XP is a frustrating kick to the balls, PGI. For real? This was seen as a good idea?

I was dropping with a group that included two Kodiaks, a King Crab, and a Mauler. I was near the back of the group. Guess who the enemy focused down, completely ignoring the huge meta assaults stomping into their faces?

Not really fun and kind of a big disconnect. I dunno - maybe this is where I burn out: this game is starting to feel more like work with not a lot of reward.

This is where I was saying that, success in the leaderboard should act as a modifier to your tier in MM. This way everyone in the top 25 should be treated as a Tier 1/2 by MM so the best would be fighting each other, which is absolutely how it should be...

But you *CAN* transfer MC now, thanks to those bright-n-shiny unit coffers... all you have to do is be in the same unit.

Edit: Take that back, not entirely sure you can donate MC, only distribute planetary gains... if that is the case then PGI did the right thing b/c MC selling would be the motive to do things like this...

You can donate C-bills only to unit coffers... but thanks to the in-game store, MC can be converted to C-bills, so those top five finishes... 1000MC AND 5 million cbills and everything else below it also remember. So using an alt account to farm can be used to benefit a unit unfairly in ways other units, not resorting to farming methods, wouldn't be capable of doing. Not to mention if you're trying to enhance the sale of the account, banked MC, GXP, C-bills, etc.. is one sure fire way of doing it.

Yeah, but recruitment fees for larger units tend to marginalize those importation gains.

I dunno... 800MC gets you only 1.1 million CBills... seems a pretty crappy exchange rate.

I would simply put a caveat that top X winners cannot change their account info for like 3-6 months making it a really crappy long term investment to sell the account itself.

This isn't wow where there is such depths that a purchased account saves you time or allows you access to some rare account-bound items. The only thing a purchased account gives you is mechs, some cbills, MC, and GXP...

As for the idea that PGI would let it go because the buyer may be a potential whale that will dump money into the game is a little far fetched... If they buy a loaded account second hand, why would they need to give PGI any more money?

Here's my theory.

Somebody wants a second (or third account) and this is how they get it loaded with goodies so that they can hop back and forth playing whatever faction of FP they care to play, or so that they can troll anonymously. Or maybe they are going to gift it to a buddy to get them to start playing (bought a mech pack, have a month of premium time, won some MC and swag to boot!)

Hey PGI, its nice you provide us with some Gamedata for our played Matches, but... why dont you give us the important Data?
Why is C-Bills and XP in this List? For me its useless intel and i'd like to see KMDD and Solo Kills instead. Or to be exact, all Values needed to calculate the score myself afterwards.
I tried to find out how good a Match must be at least to get better in the ranking. But with this poor information i can only guess.

In direct conversion yes, but indirectly...via a mech purchase, the conversion is much better. The locust 1E Champion is 760MC regular price, but has a 190XL engine that can be sold for 1.55 million cbills. Buy that locust on sale and the conversion gets even better (either a 35% off light mechs sale, or one of the 50% hero/champ sales which happen a couple times a year).

Why make public evidence of cheating for all to see, when they can give you the form letter response when you message them over a suspected cheater...the last thing they need is someone showing 10 games with 5 or 6 solo KMDDs each time, for everyone to question where these morons are that let themselves die to the same player, and why they're never in games with anyone else.

I think they just gave the Chess Knight cockpit item away fro free.
I got the account injection for it, and am now equipping it in my mech, but I am not showing that I got a KMDD on a Cyclops on the event board.
I guess this is another PGI feature....

I had this too.

First - i am very, very sorry for my bad english writing.

Second - i have to say, i am very upset with those events, because I never see cheating so clear like in event times.

I tried to have a good rank in only one Mech and to level the other ones. And so i got one ranking for "Cyclops P". And i can tell, it´s a real very hard fight. I can not tell how many drops i have done, but actually i know, i need more than 600 damage and more than 2 kills and 3 killmostdamage to raise my ranking. Those matches are rare, because every one whant´s to kill my Cyclops and i am only saved by my ECM and colour of Mech.

And now i have 2.130 ranking !!!

I see rakings about 3300 to 4.200 in worth !
And some guys do have this SEVERAL times !!!! Actually i am very upset ! This is not makable without cheating. When i have a very good match i have a matchscore about 470-500 ! What matchscore is needed for 3.300 up to 4.200 ?

And how could this be that one Player is ALLWAYS in Ranks 1-5 ???? In my eyes this is cheating! Some guys seem to be immortal and allways hitting, never gone to overheat,....

Forget all those quirks and events and other earnings !!!!!

Do something against cheating !!!!! Even in your own family !!!!!

These are surely not only my words, but i speak it loud ! MOST times (not everyone) Cheaters lead the events !
