So, that reduced damage only applies to internals or is it global?

So, the damage will not insta-kill.. .thats something... but, its still along the lines of showing us who's boss! (they will not get rid of it)

I thought headshots were removed from LTs some patches ago

After doing the math:

Nearly all of them



They can't Crit either, no Long Tom will no longer instagib faces (if there wasn't already protection).




Now, this may be too much of a nerf, but it's a hell of a lot better than the alternative.
I'd prefer multiple smaller shells, personally.

Didn't you know? Russ is in love with the Long Tom and will never give up on it or anything he thinks is a good idea or a good path for MWO to go on despite what the community says.

I wouldn't be surprised if there was fan fiction shipping going on at this point.

Yeah, there are basically two states that Long Tom can be in:

1) "OMG, cheap! Why bother invasion dropping on this planet now?"
2) "OMG, pointless! Why bother scout dropping to maximum on any planet?"

Scenario 2) is preferable to 1) at least, and it looks like this hotfix might get us there.

A better idea would be some sort of spotter drone that moves and has a few more hit points than a UAV.

(Redacted). Long Tom is eventually gone per the podcast.

One point of random damage from the Sky God is one point too many. The end game to Intel should be Intel, not RNG damage. Numerous viable, better, Intel options were presented which would have had significant in game affects without the Sky Hammer. Ignored. The Invasion mode is miserable enough to 90% of players without Long Tom.

Thirty points of damage per exposed component is not going to be happily received by players any more than 160 or 120. It may not always insta-kill as before, but as you're running away from it with weak armor exposed, it will still cut through the armor of mediums and do internal damage.

EDIT:
As for the argument that Scouting has be to massively "worth it", you're wrong, IMO. Those of us doing a lot of Scout do it because we LIKE the mode. I'd Scout if there was no end-game to it. Certainly prefer it over the choke-point, single mode, respawning carnage mode.

So is it 30 per part (x7 parts for 210 damage total) or just 30 damage spread in 5 pt bundles like it should have been? Cause 30 at a time tip everything is still over kill, specially if rear is targeted separately from front...

Yep. I always preferred Scouting over Invasion. 4v4 is such a fun experience.
