Its called running medium mechs with ECM to completely screw the Streakcrows out from being effective and the tryhards will start running other mechs. In the mean time, enjoy the builds listed below and the INSTANT WINS against Streakcrows as long as at least some of your team are running them.

Even if you have guys running Pirates Bane, they can win 50% of all matches by their self because all they have to do on Scout missions is run to the drop ship and as soon as they touch the dropship zone its instant win.

There are 2 IS 55 tonner mediums that runs ECM and boats 4 SRM's that destroys streak crows 1 on 1, and when running flocks, complete shut the streak crow down from being able to fire their streaks.

Honorable mention is a 40 tonner that outruns the Streakcrows by 20 KPH, outranges them with ERLL by a good 300M range and oh also runs ECM. It can come in, mix up denying streakcrows locks, and then run away if taking damage and act as an ERLL sniper and pick the streakcrow to pieces at its leisure.

You can bring Sparky, Shawk 2K, BJ1X, BJ-A, ENF-4R, CDA-3M, WVR-6K, CRB and many others to leg from range and completely prevent streaks from doing any damage. If you can aim PPCs, the BJ3 is also great for that as well.

If you want to brawl, bring something like a Shawk 2D2, or MPL sparky, or Crabs with MPLs.

If you want SRMs, bring GRF-3M or 2N, or a Shawk 2D2 and wreck them outright with huge tightly packed SRM volleys.

If you want Dakka, run a 2H Shawk or 5M and just hammer the daylights out of them from range. With the reticule shake from the constant dakka barrage, they will never lock anything.

If you cannot put the pieces together to sort it all out after all those options...well...I am not sure what to tell you.

How does ECM matter? If you're fighting Skillcrows without BAP (CAP), then you probably won't need any kind of special build to defeat them, as they most likely won't know how to move their torso independently of their legs.

That doesn't make for an interesting game.

fortunately trebuchet 7M with 30 Lrms and modules can shell a stormcrow to bits before the latter can close.

So it will be useful if non ecm builds to stormcrow are shared

They spread dmg way too much to be effective against a good IS medium.

actually Id just rather avoid the mode entirely. The best way to play FW is not to play at all imo

That way no more beta fatigue

Yea, that nerf is a head scratcher. I really like the Jester, it's a solid performer, but I never thought it needed to be dialed back.



Edit: PGI must have met their sales goal for Jesters, time to dial them back. If people keep buying oxides, they are next.

BAP counters 1 ECM, TAG counters a second, and a UAV counters them all if you get mugged.

I suspect they did it because they're almost ready to roll out the rescaled catapult and don't want P2W accusations. Not that it'll stop anyone.

Streakcrows aren't very scary to 55 ton mediums. I'm regularly eating them up with my GRF-2N. SRMs are where it's at. If you go energy, you need to boat SPLs or MPLs, and even then it can take a while to bring down very fast opponents. One reason the Sparky is so good is because of the laser duration quirks--6 MPLs w/ -15% duration will leg a cheetah very quickly. But I also found that SRMs are way more effective at killing scouting opponents. 4 GRF-2Ns will demolish anything short of 4 SRM-boating Stormcrows.
