I've invited some friends, and we're looking forward to it!

I don't like your tone. BANT! XD
Yea, I think we'll try to get something up today. Was thinking of posting /r/mwo one week, /r/outreachhpg the other.
I tried crazy hard to get a response from PGI on Twitter for event #1 but no dice...

We had a fun time at Euro-Mayhem on Saturday balancing teams by BV, and with more feedback I think Igor's spreadsheet could be at least as effective as using tonnage.
One issue is that T2 IS heavies/assaults rarely hold a candle to heavier Clan mechs, so as tonnage goes up for both sides, clans gain an advantage and IS has issues filling out their tonnage/BV. On the flip side, having tonnage/BV too low means too many clan light mechs, which are mostly inflated-BV trash.
I think the optimal balance we are looking for is where there are a mostly clan medium and lights, but still a couple heavies, and an assault. Then you would want the IS side to have more players (10 v 12 perhaps), so clan side has more individual tonnage/bv, and IS can take a more varied deck and compensate with pilot count, since heavier IS tonnage does not necessarily equal a more effective IS deck like it does with clans.

That being said, while I am not apposed to asymmetric battles it is going to require a lot of consideration to keep those fun and balanced, especially when team counts are relatively even and some players are prepared for stock 3025.
But again, great job on hosting another fun event.
Thanks,

Great games tonight guys. I was only able to play a handful but they were all crazy good! Nice work Ultra on quickly shuffling the v teams each game, getting the tonnage limit entered and games going fast! Pro.
