Hi AriCri, is there a thread in the italian sub-forum to promote stock event and the SMM?
Can you write one if not?

Do we have a german ambassador?
Here is the proof that there is a german stock activity:
Stockloadouts Am Samstag - Einladung

For the french-speaking side, Hadral can be our ambassador.
I think he speaks a better english than me and he is a member of the SMC (the biggest unit in our little french speaking community). I hope it will help to attract more players from his unit.

Ok I will do it!!!

Tonight, the battle for Nashuar takes place. The fate of the St. Ives Compact is on the line!

Quote

Nearly mortally wounded after the Federated Sun's invasion during the Fourth Succession War and the twin defections of both the St. Ives and Tikonov Commonalities, the Capellan Confederation stands on a precipice. Either the once great house will fade into obscurity or it will seize upon destiny and make all those who once opposed it realize the error if their ways. The Capellans have chosen the latter.

Mercenary forces have been hired and instructed to invade the St. Ives Compact and retake the world of Nashuar for the Confederation. The St. Ives Compact, lacking the military might to garrison all of its planets, have hired a mercenary outfit of their own to defend the outer planets of the Compact. If the invasion is successful, this planet will serve as a base of operations for further incursions into St. Ives. If it fails, the invasion could prove to be the final nail in the Confederation's coffin.

This week's Stock Mech Madness will be unique in that, instead of just playing skirmish matches while using restricted technology, we will be playing out a scenario. I figure if you guys like playing stock Mech matches, you can nerd out a bit more with me and have something along the lines of a campaign. The scenario will consist of five rounds. Teams will be fixed as much as possible so that there will be minimum of downtime between rounds. One team will represent the attackers and the other the defenders throughout the scenario. I had toyed with the idea of coming up with a list of house specific Mechs, but it'll be simpler to stick with Tech level 1 for the night. No hero Mechs. Balance will be achieved by giving the losing team an extra five tons per Mech in the next round. I do not intend to deal with automation or spreadsheets unless this proves to be popular.

The Campaign

ROUND 1 - BEACHHEAD
Recon forces of the attackers will meet a defending picket force. The scouts are looking to gather information the disposition of the defending mercenary unit and establish a beach head while the defenders are hoping to throw the attacking force off-balance disrupt further attacks.

Map: Grim Plexis
Mode: Conquest
Tonnage Average: 40 per player

ROUND 2 - LANDING IN FORCE
The Capellan mercenaries are committing greater forces to raid local supply depots and deplete defending resources. The mercenaries defending Nashuar have been ordered to deploy a light defense force to determine the seriousness of the attack and deny attackers access to critical supply caches.

Map: Crimson Strait
Mode: Conquest
Tonnage Average: 45 per player

ROUND 3 - HEAD OF THE SNAKE
Both attacking and defending mercenary units have setup a field base withing 5km of each other. The force best able to disrupt and destroy the others command center will have a decisive advantage in the next battle.

Map: River City
Mode: Assault
Tonnage Average: 50 per player

ROUND 4 - IN PURSUIT
The victorious force will press their advantage by choosing the battlefield conditions. The victors of Round 3 can choose:

Mission One: To further disrupt the command, control, and communications.
Map: Tourmaline
Mode: Assault

Mission Two: To capture enemy supply depots to reinvigorate their own forces.
Map: Frozen City
Mode: Conquest

Mission Three: To hunt down their opponents BattleMech reserve.
Map: Mining Collective
Mode: Skirmish

Map: Determined by Mission set
Mode: Determined by Mission set
Tonnage Average: 55 per player

ROUND 5 - LAST STAND
The defeated force from round 4 will need to make a final stand and determine the outcome of the invasion. Surrender is not an option, so the only choice to be made is where to make a final stand. The previous winner, seeing an opportunity to crush any further resistance, has committed the rest of their forces to the battle ahead. The winner will decide the outcome of the planet's fate. To the victors go the spoils.

Map: Determined by loser of Round 4
Mode: Skirmish
Tonnage Average: 60 per player

Where To Join In

FAQs

Q:Where can if find information on the different tech level loadouts?
A:Tips and information on the stock Mech matches can be found on the official forums here.

Q:Do I need to build the Mechs myself?
A:No, there's an option in the private lobby that temporarily resets your Mech back to the stock loadout. HOWEVER (!), you do need to have a valid build on your Mech. That means, it needs an engine, enough heatsinks, and at least one weapon. If your Mech has a red icon in the Mech Lab, it's missing something.

Q:Do I need to own the Mech to play with it in a stock match?
A:Yes. If you're missing Mechs for a tech level (see the forum link above), you can take a trial Mech and their champion build will be reset to the correct stock build.

Q:Are there any restricted Mechs?
A:For the scenario tonight, the technology level of the Mechs will be restricted to tech level 1.

Q:Will this be streamed for me to watch?
A:I'll probably give this another go of streaming on my channel here: https://www.twitch.tv/jfc_seth, but I make no promises of the quality of the stream or the lack of cursing on my part.

I'm interested in playing Stock Mech Mayhem. I'm in Europe, can play in afternoon or evening hours. Where do I need to sign up, is there a Teamspeak server that I use to contact people to organize?

Edit:
Is ts.clanjadefalcon.com still used for Stock Mech Mayhem matches?

Edit 2:
I can't logon to ts.clanjadefalcon.com via Teamspeak. I'm getting error messages all the time.

Hey dude,

There's an EU contingent that meets Saturdays - 17:00UTC (12:00pm EST) on ts.librarians.su

The Jade Falcon TS is indeed still the current one for NA SMM. Not sure what the problem could be. Seth or Ultramek might be able to tell you more.

You can try using the direct IP address "63.210.145.69:9171" instead of ts.clanjadefalcon.com. Unlikely to help, but can't hurt to try.

The Capellan/St. Ives border skirmish heats up as the St. Ives Compact takes the fight to the Confederation!

Quote

Having repulsed the Capellan Confederation’s incursion into the St. Ives Compact, Duchess Candice Liao has decided she is not satisfied having simply embarrassed the CCAF. She has decided to punish the Capellan adventurism by annexing the world of Necromo. Controlling the planet would deny the Confederation an ideal future staging ground. Additionally, during her husband’s time with the Maskirovka, he had heard rumors that the system was home to an exceedingly rare functional shipyard. Even if the rumor is proven false, the capture of the system will provide for a buffer against further Confederation aggression.

This week’s Stock Mech Madness will continue the campaign started last week when mercenary forces, under the employment of the Capellan Confederation, made an aborted attempt to invade the St. Ives Compact. This week, the Compact returns the favor in kind. This scenario will consists of five rounds and the teams will be fixed throughout the scenario. The technology level will be restricted to Tech Level 1 (read here for info). No hero Mechs. Balance will be achieved by giving the losing team an extra five tons per Mech in the next round. Come nerd out with me as I channel my inner gamemaster!

The Campaign

ROUND 1 - THE FEDRATS BLOW IT!
Map: Polar Highlands
Mode: Domination
Time of Day: Night

In his eagerness to support any campaign against the Capellan Confederation, Hanse Davion authorized two companies of newly produced Centurion CN9-A BattleMechs be transferred to St. Ives Military Command to support the understrength Compact armed forces. However, while in orbit of Necromo, a team of Death Commandos managed to board and commandeer a Federated Suns dropship loaded with a full company of the pristine Mechs. The dropship grounded near the planet’s HPG array. The St. Ives forces, under the cover of darkness, have grounded their own dropship of Centurions near the HPG station in order to secure control of off-world communications and to recapture or destroy as many of the stolen Centurions as possible.

*Both teams will need to be made up entirely of Centurion CN9-A Mechs! This is my way of making sure everyone who takes part in Stock Mech Monday is made aware of the free CN9-A promotion. You can find out how to get the free Centurion and MechBay here.

ROUND 2 - HOLD THE PASS
Map: Frozen City
Mode: Capture
Time of Day: Random
Average Tonnage: 30 tons per player

The Capellan garrison force has determined that in order to slow the St. Ives advance, they need to contain or destroy their forward elements. An abandoned city, long lost to a high altitude glacial advance, has been determined to be an ideal ambush location. The force best able to control the strategically advantageous locations of the pass, or the one able to destroy the other, will have the advantage of choosing the time and mission of the next map.

ROUND 3 - KICK THEM WHILE THEY'RE DOWN
Map: Veridian Bog
Time of Day: Determined by Round 2 Victorious Team
Average Tonnage: 45 Tons per Player

The victorious force from the previous battle will have the freedom to choose time and type of mission for the third battle. The victors can choose the from one of the following missions:

Mission 1: To further disrupt the command, control, & communications.
Mode: Assault

Mission 2: To capture enemy supply depots and disrupt & destroy their opponents supply lines.
Mode: Capture

Mission 3: To hunt down and destroy their opponents BattleMech reserve.
Mode: Skirmish

The victorious team will again have the advantage in the next battle.

ROUND 4 - HERE, THERE BE DROPSHIPS
Time of Day: Random
Average Tonnage: 55 Tons per Player

If the St. Ives force was able to secure a victory in round 3, they will have the opportunity to further investigate the rumors of a shipyard on planet. If the Capellan force was victorious, they will have been able to slip false information to the attacking St. Ives force and lure them into attacking a low value target. Either way, the victorious team will have the advantage of choosing the next mission:

Mission 1: Capellan forces defend the refinery station from the attacking St. Ives forces in order to prevent them from learning of the destination of the mined ores.
Map: Caustic Valley
Mode: Domination

Mission 2: Capellan forces defend the geothermal station from the attacking St. Ives forces in order to prevent them from learning of the destination of the stations power production.
Map: Terra Therma
Mode: Domination

ROUND 5 - THE LAST STAND
Map - Determined by the previously defeated team
Time of Day: Skirmish
Average Tonnage: 60 Tons per Player. There is no bonus for the previously defeated team in the last round.

Despite the less than ideal outcome, the previously defeated force will rally the bulk of their remaining Mechs for a final confrontation at a location of their choosing. Surrender is not an option for either force. The winner of this battle will decide the outcome of the invasion. There is no fate but what we make.

Where To Join In
Matches will be organize on the CJF TS3 server. The address is ts.clanjadefalcon.com, no password. The start time will be at 9:30 pm EST, though we might have a couple of warm up matches while we wait for stragglers. No sign-ups required, all are welcome!
