Tonight, the battle for Nashuar takes place. The fate of the St. Ives Compact is on the line!
Quote
Nearly mortally wounded after the Federated Sun's invasion during the Fourth Succession War and the twin defections of both the St. Ives and Tikonov Commonalities, the Capellan Confederation stands on a precipice. Either the once great house will fade into obscurity or it will seize upon destiny and make all those who once opposed it realize the error if their ways. The Capellans have chosen the latter.
Mercenary forces have been hired and instructed to invade the St. Ives Compact and retake the world of Nashuar for the Confederation. The St. Ives Compact, lacking the military might to garrison all of its planets, have hired a mercenary outfit of their own to defend the outer planets of the Compact. If the invasion is successful, this planet will serve as a base of operations for further incursions into St. Ives. If it fails, the invasion could prove to be the final nail in the Confederation's coffin.
This week's Stock Mech Madness will be unique in that, instead of just playing skirmish matches while using restricted technology, we will be playing out a scenario. I figure if you guys like playing stock Mech matches, you can nerd out a bit more with me and have something along the lines of a campaign. The scenario will consist of five rounds. Teams will be fixed as much as possible so that there will be minimum of downtime between rounds. One team will represent the attackers and the other the defenders throughout the scenario. I had toyed with the idea of coming up with a list of house specific Mechs, but it'll be simpler to stick with Tech level 1 for the night. No hero Mechs. Balance will be achieved by giving the losing team an extra five tons per Mech in the next round. I do not intend to deal with automation or spreadsheets unless this proves to be popular.
The Campaign
ROUND 1 - BEACHHEAD
Recon forces of the attackers will meet a defending picket force. The scouts are looking to gather information the disposition of the defending mercenary unit and establish a beach head while the defenders are hoping to throw the attacking force off-balance disrupt further attacks.

ROUND 2 - LANDING IN FORCE
The Capellan mercenaries are committing greater forces to raid local supply depots and deplete defending resources. The mercenaries defending Nashuar have been ordered to deploy a light defense force to determine the seriousness of the attack and deny attackers access to critical supply caches.
Map: Crimson Strait
Mode: Conquest
Tonnage Average: 45 per player
ROUND 3 - HEAD OF THE SNAKE
Both attacking and defending mercenary units have setup a field base withing 5km of each other. The force best able to disrupt and destroy the others command center will have a decisive advantage in the next battle.

Mode: Assault

ROUND 4 - IN PURSUIT
The victorious force will press their advantage by choosing the battlefield conditions. The
victors of Round 3 can choose:
Mission One: To further disrupt the command, control, and communications.
Map: Tourmaline
Mode: Assault
Mission Two: To capture enemy supply depots to reinvigorate their own forces.

Mode: Skirmish

Mode: Determined by Mission set

ROUND 5 - LAST STAND
The defeated force from round 4 will need to make a final stand and determine the outcome of the invasion. Surrender is not an option, so the only choice to be made is where to make a final stand. The previous winner, seeing an opportunity to crush any further resistance, has committed the rest of their forces to the battle ahead. The winner will decide the outcome of the planet's fate. To the victors go the spoils.

FAQs
Q:Where can if find information on the different tech level loadouts?
A:Tips and information on the stock Mech matches can be found on the official forums
here.
Q:Do I need to build the Mechs myself?
A:No, there's an option in the private lobby that temporarily resets your Mech back to the stock loadout. HOWEVER (!), you do need to have a valid build on your Mech. That means, it needs an engine, enough heatsinks, and at least one weapon. If your Mech has a red icon in the Mech Lab, it's missing something.
Q:Do I need to own the Mech to play with it in a stock match?
A:Yes. If you're missing Mechs for a tech level (see the forum link above), you can take a trial Mech and their champion build will be reset to the correct stock build.
Q:Are there any restricted Mechs?
A:For the scenario tonight, the technology level of the Mechs will be restricted to tech level 1.
Q:Will this be streamed for me to watch?
A:I'll probably give this another go of streaming on my channel here:
https://www.twitch.tv/jfc_seth, but I make no promises of the quality of the stream or the lack of cursing on my part.
