Best thing they can do with the skill/module systems is to just get rid of them completely.

The reason they are re-doing is is so that they are not so much place-holders anymore. I guess another half-*** post as usual

As you said, this thread is about predictions.

Instead of being reactionary, how about you post your predictions?

this game is a little bit far into development to be as full of place holders as it currently is.

Aside from the skill tree, what other placeholders do you perceive are still in place?

I expect MULTIPLE skills that increase convergence, instead of the 1 we have now.

And yes, I expect them to have the same effect as our current one.

Clan ACs/LBX. Quickplay itself.

. So i just took the point of his post and flipped it. The Half-*** part was a nice touch.

have no clue what you mean by "reactionary". I guess the opposite of that is a sponge or something.

CW?
At least one can hope ...

Apart from that ... LB-X autocannons (mostly the Clan ones), Information Warfare, the Command Console, the game lobby/chat system - and hopefully Paul.

Because Russ has been talking about its replacement since at least August of last year.

As to his motivations, I'd like to think it is do to player demand for a skill tree that actually provides a bit of specialization with benefits and costs reflected by the decisions you make in climbing the "tree". Alas, what we will get will be something completely out of left field that few will like, and no one will understand from a game play, MW or BT perspective...at least the that is my prediction.

Edit: lord have mercy...it just hit me: the new skill tree will be based on ED.

Each skill will be based on an aspect of ED. I haven't thought though it yet, but the skills will be based on spending XP to get, say a max 5 point over the alpha limit with certain weapons (energy), or 5% better heat performance with specific weapons...something along those lines.

Skills tree will be ED with bonuses. That's my guess.

Maybe players will start out in the middle and explore skills in all directions.

Much like all your posts. I've come to expect half assed work from pgi the past few years while they hawk mech packs like a used car dealer. I bet you know all the details of the skill tree so tell us what exactly is "skill." Must be nice to be on the buddy system with the Nerfinator.

Sorry.

Just sayin tho.

I recall a meeting about FP where peeps were told about taking out contracts on other players. I just noticed that that whole thing was s'posed to be based on contracts between players.

I think it's not terribly far out if any meaningful development at this point could be cannibalized from previous ventures or some kind of guinea pig for future endeavors. And that's why so much time is being put into Mr Tree..

Mind as well change this to

you do not deal in Trolling, but I do. So let me help you see my world.

If you're just going to troll people like that.

If you look at my post and the one to the other guy. I just take what they say and change it a bit to turn it back. Probably didn't catch that.

of course you only address me, I understand. The Bias is real. I just took their post and added some flavor. I qouted panthers post and added half-assed, instead of half-planned.

Not my fault I hurt his feelings.

I did.

But you insist on replying to that garbage post of his. Just leave him be. If he wants to spew garbage, let him. Not like you can change his mind anyways.

I was trying to illustrate a point. Not for him, but for the other guy who might be reading. After all this isn't the forum where things go unchallenged. I simply saw something that was a silly statement. I decided that I was going to take that statement and reverse it. Maybe *** was a stronger word but the point stood

The skill tree is PILOT SKILL. It was about increased capability due to chassis familiarity. If they put in any system that improves weapon cool down, weapon range, etc, then it's no longer a pilot skill tree, it's a quirk system.

i'd hope that if they go with a skill point system, they will also include a reset system as well.. so if I invest into a ballisitcs system, and desided i did not want to go that route, I could some how reset the system, and redistribute he sill points.
