but it would be as unimportant and boring as usual.
Hope Nicoruss Bulrensky doesn't announce another vision.
Or at least I hope so, but I fear they could add a top down shooter mode with no heat and unlimited ammunition

You may be right, I wish it could be done though because the current one seems to really be holding things back.. PGI should be familiar with the pitfalls, because Dietmar Houser used a game they worked on (Duke Nukem Forever) as an example of why switching engines is a bad idea.

Most likely the original code is a horrible mess because no one at PGI had experience working with Cryengine when this project started. It may be too costly to unravel it because it could potentially break so much or have unintended consequences. They may really be planning to migrate to a new engine and want to fix it then. Lots of possibilities.

Somone new is joining PGI -- that or Russ is having Elvis' love child. (Personally i am hoping for the latter -- waiting patiently for the aliens to bring Elvis back).

I'm betting Crytek either provided their own engineer at the beginning or worked closely with original PGI engineer responsible for the work.
And i'm guessing that if you don't know exactly how the code and whatnot was going to be structured it would be almost impossible to actually figure out.
