in my travels around the IS and I have seen great pilots in all the factions
these guys/gals wreak face
self discipline is one quality I saw in one player
instead of charging for the center of the map he/she just sits at the spawn not moving
then at the end he/she comes alive and starts killing Mechs
not one person complained as we watched because of how good the player was
what would make your list of qualities

But any player who sandbags and waits until the end is among the worst kind of scum in the game.

Its just that attacking a bunch of weakened enemies doesn't really show that you're one of the best pilots or anything. Winning against a bunch of non weakened enemies, or defeating enemies while weakened shows that you can actually carry more than your weight.

it takes a different pilot not to do that
I might not like it but I acknowledge the tactic
and his ability to take on 4 Mechs at the end and kill 3 of them
here is another player that is good

So, even though I thought you were being sarcastic I am not going to be and say Flexibility.

Trick 2, hide like a vaginal wart.
Trick 3, somehow never miss while jump sniping from max range.
There ya go.

- Intimately familiar with all of the maps
- Intimately familiar with their mech's capabilities and limitations
- Superior situational awareness - always know what's happening around them
- Able to read the flow of battle on the fly...know where to be and when to be there
- Know when to push a fight, and when to withdraw and reposition
- Accept losses as "sh*t happens" and press on

That's okay the Red Baron eventually died.
As will we all.
Also the best light pilots are the ones who don't get shot.

This said, I find that the best mech pilots are also people I can stand. They are fun to play with, good to joke around with, and they are lighthearted enough with the game to not take it too seriously. These are the kind of people you want to play with, and also the kind that can bind a team together to score a victory.

Go watch competitive arena shooter tourney's as an example of what can be done without the game restricting you.

The kind of pilot you respect is the kind others see as K/D ratio focused cowardly scum who deserve to be legged.

the guy was obviously good he handled his heat placed his shots
in the church of skill video try jumping up high in an EXE and snipe and see how long you last
I really wanted other peoples thought and opinions on the best Mech pilots
I now regret the first story since it takes away from the original question
