I will comment on the Kit Fox and the Stormcrow because I have those. I'm getting two Summoners so I will like to know what the Hero brings to the table.

Omnimechs are of course different since you can mix and match. Every Kit Fox build I have has the KFX-C right arm with ECM. That means I almost never use the KFX-D right arm that has two missiles hardpoints with Narc and other missiles quirks. Because trying to Narc without ECM is crazier than normal.

The Kit Fox Hero will be a must buy for me. It brings a whole new aspect to it. If you look at the picture you see all the weapons on the arms are low mounted. And the only torso weapons it has is two ballistics hardpoints that only had enough size for MGs.

But look at the "Ears" of the Kit Fox. This is now where two ER LLs will be. A Kit Fox pilot will no longer have to show his whole self to shoot. They are very high mounted.

Now for the Stormcrow. This is more disappointing but an OK plus. The Stormcrow Hero adds a ballistic arm giving two ballistic slots, one in each arm. The Stormcrow already has two ballistic left arms so the Hero left arm is a waste, it basically just adds a useless 3rd one. At least the right arm also has one energy hardpoint. It would be better if it had TWO ballistics slots and upgraded the Left Arm with 2 ballistic hardpoints.

And it adds a 2nd AMS and that is about it. It does replace the right torso that only has an AMS, with an AMS right torso plus an energy hardpoint but the left torso loses it's energy hardpoint to gain an AMS.

Not a big improvement except for another Ballistic hardpoint. IMO, the left torso should have kept an energy along with gaining the AMS hardpoint. And I'm sure that most players will add the SCR-Prime head with an energy slot. The problem lies in what two ballistic weapons would you use? You could already use one Gauss, a 20 or a 10 although the first two came with little ammo. Using two the most you can do is two 5's or better, two 2's.

So two 5's or two 2's and 3 energy hardpoints and two AMS is what it makes. And the SCR does run hot so this will help.

I doubt it but I hope that when they make Clan "Champions" they fill in some blanks. I'm sure they will never allow a Stormcrow to have ECM. But I'd like to see the "MG Array" brought to the game. Where you have a ballistic slot, you could put 3 MGs in it weighing 1 ton.

For instance, this Stormcrow could now carry 6 MGs.

http://www.sarna.net...chine_Gun_Array

If those that have the other Clan mechs could add what the Hero brings that would be great. Beside the Summoner Hero which I might buy because I'm being given two Summoners. the only other Clan mech I want is the Shadowcat.

you miss read the load out.. It has two energy in RT and LT, with 2 of them up near the {LT-MOB-25} pit.. and then 1 ballistic in each arm. The photo looks to have different arms.. Unless of course they screwed up the description. https://mwomercs.com/clan-heroes

The photos are not representative of the loadouts. I think they used already made mech models when they mocked up the patterns for the announcement. There is a disclaimer about this on the page.

yep, they just took existing mechs and gave em the hero skin.

Look at the actual text to determine what actual hardpoints they will come with.

As far as I can tell, at least on average

you are paying for
- 2 unique omni-pods
- a custom camo
- 30% c-bill boost
- a cockpit item

No real "game changers" for most of these mechs.
The Dire Wolf would have been great if it came out before the skill tree nerf.

Yes, the Hero adds two 2 torso mounted energy hardpoints which is my point. And I do believe that they will be on top of the head.

I can make and I use a version with two torso mounted MG's And they are both above the head in the "ears".

The timberwolf hero looks like a nice upgrade! Getting the other balistic arm will be nice for uac5 boating maybe?

(But... I think night gyr will still be best in slot... So i wont be getting any heros).

But back on topic, the summoner looks ok-ish... So its probably a good buy... (Once again though... See above night gyr comment).

And the kitfox... Well i dont think its worth spending cash on... Well not that much cash at least...
Edit: i thought all the heros costed the same.. I was wrong! $10 might actually be worth it for the kit fox hero... But idk

True, But is is very nice to see them finally in the game, even if they aren't totally new/unique. But still that is what all heroes are, you can run stuff similar in other mechs, but often they just have their own flavor. But the biggest bonus to them, is they are a great way for people to get a Bonus C-bill grinder of their favorite mech with out breaking the bank. not everyone has 80-100-120 buck to go buy some package to get a +30% Bonus mech they want.

My IS account, i have bought select heroes, of my favorite mechs, and have enjoyed them greatly. (my IS account i have spent a little over 120 bucks total over the last 3.5+ years and now have closing in on 70 mechs. Those heroes have earned me a good 50M+ over the years, on top of getting to skip the grind for buying them in the first place.

I see clan heroes the exact same way. I would be all over these had i not just bought Wave III, after saving money all summer for it. (they are my first +30% c-bill mechs on my clan account, as so far that account i had only spent 30 bucks on MC to buy a timber Champion on sale, and grab some extra mech bays, and paint/camo. The account had 12 mechs till now)

But i know i will be picking up a couple next year periodically. the Timber, Kit-fox and adder will be firsts on my list.. The second two will be nice as i will only need to buy 2 for c-bills so that saves me 20m right there. (i already own 3 timbers, but i could easily use a 4th so i don't have to keep swapping load outs.. then i can my my timber C(C) and a timber hero in my clan drop deck, earning bonus XP and c-bills every time i play CW! For me, the $10.00 for the Kit Fox and the $15.00 for the Stormcrow is money well spent. I will have two +30 C-Bills Mechs instead of two +30 XP Mechs. And I wanted another Stormcrow. And the four added Energy hardpoints will bring out a totally different Kit Fox. One that is now a fighter.

I'm getting two free Summoners which I know little about so I might get it's Hero as my 3rd.

I only have one problem and for me, that is the paint jobs on these special ones. I go camo as quick as possible. Like the BJ Arrow, I like the Black and White...but not in a battle.

Yup.. I did the same thing with my IS account.. Like i bought a Sparky, Ember, arrow, and misery as my third mechs.. I have a few others too, Jester and huggin but i already had 3 of those.. But still it is a nice way to get a good booster for money makers on fun mechs, and you save the c-bills from buying them.

But the clan ones are even better, as you can really build tons of mechs, as they are OMNI's.. I will pick up the timber as my first, then kitfox and Adder, Eventually i will get the dire and/or warhawk,... But that will have to wait till next year.. i already treated myself with Wave III the other day., the day before it was announced lol I figured the 2 summoners+hellbringer+ 12 colors, and 4 camoes and 2 months premium was worth it.. came down to 8 bucks a mech, with 7 +30% boosters included if you count the loyalty ones (and that is not even counting all the value of the bays/paint/camo/premium/cockpit stuff).

Ehh, i could see that.. But don't forget, they are on sale for 35% off.. So i picked up the D instead.

Well I'm in same boat getting 2 summoners thru the rewards scheme

So I'm thinking wait till later in the month and get the hero then it could count towards a reward scheme next year

Also as they are not realeased for MC purchase till May 2017 (think I read) does this mean no clan mastery packs till then?

O my...Clan Mastery Bundles......PGI would say they still need a Champion which would be easy to do. And could round out the Omnimechs even better. They will be careful with them, however.

Also of note for anyone who hasn't bought any clan mechs during the current loyalty period is that the $10 Kit Fox or Adder hero mech will also qualify you for the loyalty Hellbringer HBR-F, so it's like getting two mechs for the price of one.

I bought the Kit Fox hero because I already have three Kit Foxes and three Hellbringers, like both mechs, and hadn't yet bought any clan mechs this loyalty period. The paint job on the Purifier looks pretty cool too.

Hey, great eye on that one. I saw going to say that you were wrong and then I read it again and saw where PGI added a Clan Wave 1 Hero to it. I'd say everyone that does not have a Kit Fox or Hellbringer should pay $10.00 for the Kit Fox Hero and will get you the award of an HRB-F. Good deal right there.

I also bought my Kit Fox and Stormcrow. It ticks me off that we have to wait so long. They had to be careful with what they gave the Stormcrow or it would become OP ). Omnimechs mean moveable parts and that is how I think of them.

In this case, the Stormcrow got a 2nd ballistic hardpoint in a 2nd arm. And two AMS.....And an energy hardpoint in the right torso and in the right arm. You can add another energy by adding the Prime head.

I want to see PGI release a Stormcrow Champion variant with a right torso and a right arm with two missiles hardpoints in each, and a ballistic in the right torso. Make the left arm with one/two missiles hardpoints and with one energy.

Anyway. I still am thrilled about the Kit Fox gaining 4 energy hardpoints in it's torso, it is going to help it a lot. I know extra firepower for Kit Foxes is not exciting unless you like them :)

I didn't see any mention about a single hero counting, I thought the min you could buy for the HBR was a 20 dollar package. Did you check your loyalty rewards page to make sure?

My account has the checkmarks for Active Player, MC Reward (wanted the BJ-2 so I bought $8 worth of MC), IS Reward (bought the Bushwacker), and Clan Reward (bought the Kit Fox hero). Only things I don't qualify for are the two 'Top Tier' rewards and the Ultimate Reward.

Here's the fine print for the section about the Clan Reward (note 'Wave 1 Clan Heroes'):

Eligible Collections (any tier, or any a la carte 'Mech when applicable): Wave 1; Wave 2; Wave 3; Origins IIC; Kodiak; Viper; Night Gyr; Huntsman; Linebacker; Marauder IIC; Wave 1 Clan Heroes. This Hellbringer Loyalty Variant will only be available through the 2016 Clan Reward program, and will be injected into eligible accounts on a date to be determined. The Standard version of this Hellbringer variant will be available for MC and C-Bills at a future date, to be determined.

Edit: As an aside, the Wave 1 Clan Hero mechs have also been added to the 'Top Tier Clan' reward by allowing you to get the top tier clan reward by buying any six Wave 1 Clan Hero mechs.

They added "Clan 1 Wave Heros". I had to double read it myself. Great deal.

Come on, where is your fighting spirit. I will have to get the Dire Wolf. I want the Summoner because its Aiden Pryde and I think I will get the Timberwolf to play with. Might get the Kit Fox as well as I own nothing smaller than a Heavy right now.
