On 5 separate occasions today I've run back to help a slow assault with a Cheetah or engaged one myself. They are out in packs trying to farm KMDD's with their small pulse boat builds.

In all of my encounters, either my teammate or myself has gotten them down to red health in the CT or both ST's, cherry red internals. Yet, no matter how spot on my aim is, I can't seem to kill the things. Across all of these engagements, I've had a myriad of weapon types, srms, and lasers of all sorts. It seems as though the hitboxes are either glitched, or far too small on these mechs. Orange or red internals are taking volleys of 5+ medium lasers dead on, or several SRM racks and staying alive, only to alpha my CT with little effort or skill. Yet, here I am, zoomed in, watching my heat, making sure my arm weapons and torso weapons are dead on the Cheetah's torsos and they just wont die. This is made worse when you realize that the ACH has the lowest number of, or non-existent for some variants, structure bonuses of any clan light omnimech (only 2 variants have ST and/or CT buffs).

Anyone else finding it a little more hard to kill these mechs than you remember?

Of course I could just be some salty mechwarrior who failed to kill a few cheetahs.
In fact, I am. But I've played this game long enough and killed enough Cheetah's to know that they are harder to kill then I remember. Was it the re-scale? I have no idea. But their hitboxes need to be adjusted.

Hitboxes are always the first thing that people blame when a light mech doesn't die in one mouse click. Always.

Yes, but we're talking about several mouse-clicks and torso twists, etc.

Anyone have a link to the hitbox image for the cheetahs?

IDK if there's a hitbox picture, but McGral made a hitbox video test a long time ago.

There aren't any deadspots on the mech's body.

Frankly, Cheetahs are easier to kill than ever right now because their quirks are almost entirely gone, combined with the Skillz Tree nerf that reduced the speed and agility of all lights.

Or you're spreading your shots all around him and into the dirt. There's always that option. The likely option.

Arctic Cheater*

Nothing wrong with the hitboxes though, it's probably more of an issue of it being so spindly with a lot of space between the limbs and the body, that combined with fast movement speed and ****** hit registration can make it a pain to deal with.
It's no more broken than any other humanoid light, apart from being able to survive a side-torso loss, because of the totally balanced cXLs

Yes and most people will assume this without video evidence. Fair is fair, but I might as well be the one everyone thinks is crazy waving my arms around screaming "broken" and see if anyone else is doing the same. If they are, then there's a sort of legitimacy brought to the crazies who no one believes, yes?

All I can say is that my aim was true, the Cheetahs should have died based on previous experience and previous kills, and that's all. Red CT and St's, laser vomiting all over them, not one popped torso.

I took a month or two break from this game and when I came back, several mechs seemed either way too easy or way too hard to kill, Cheetah being one of the culprits now that I've had to fight them en mass due to the challenge.

Take it how you will, but I think the hitboxes need looking at.

The Cheetah's hitboxes are literally the same today as they were at the mech's release. They are a constant, not a variable.

The only aspect of the mech itself that were changed recently was another quirk nerf.

People have the same issues with the Spider. Difference is the Cheater has more hard points and better weapons.

Fixed.

I've seen people accuse the Commando and Panther of having broken hitboxes, for crying out loud. Posted Image

This is one thing that is key. Lights use against other Lights. Shoot the Legs and you take out lights in half the time. Heavy mechs always seem to focus on the upper body. The higher the experience and tier you are playing against you have to be very careful as a Light. You can loose a leg in Alpha. Once that happens you are dead.

Lights are out in force for the event. That means they obviously need another nerf.

Nothing seems to be wrong with the hitboxes anytime I get into one.

I know right? I have had like 2 lights on my team consistently all day. Such a step backwards for the game from the average of 1 light per team.

Nope, cheetahs hitboxes are fine as far as I can see.

spindly humanoid lights spread damage really well though, so the best weapons against them are weapons like gauss+ppc or IS pulse lasers.

Thought this was a necro post from...well since the Cheeter was released.

Commence with the clan defending this broken light, ignoring the recently posted leader board results, saying it is fine for a light to tank IS assaults.

Don't pull the Clan card.

I've made the same defenses for lights like the Firestarter, because people like you ALWAYS make the exact same complaints about any light that they can't kill in a single mouse click.
