Just trying to subtract the vets from these Steam Numbers. Yeah I know it's not accurate but it is all we have.

I've used both the main client and steam. I don't find much difference between the two and use the stand alone client. I'd switch to the steam version in a second if pgi would ever let us use the steam workshop to make our own mods but that is topic for different thread.

Of the two I prefer the stand alone as it runs like trash on amd systems and on my pc it runs worse when using steam until I get a new rig in a few years. Steam could have done a lot for the game but pgi going to pgi.

you should add a poll so you can get a percentage estimate by comparing do to don't so you don't need EVERYONE to necessarily comment and don't have to count. I don't play through steam though, since you were wondering.

I need to find the post, but someone used the leaderboard numbers and the amount people who played on steam and came up with around 70% of people use steam.

Although I made my account when the game first went live, I didn't start playing until it came to Steam and reminded me that it existed.

I still play on Steam. I like that it updates the game while off being a male chicken on the interwebbles.

Interesting so it is just as I thought. The Steam users really didn't stick around and a bunch of us moved to Steam for convenience.

I was the opposite. I started on steam (had forgotten that MWO existed until it popped up on there), and moved to the main client because steam adds another layer of crap that I don't want to have to deal with to simply load a game.

I'm just trying to see how many new users we are keeping. Basically getting an idea on player retention and desert rates.
